I wrote this from Lois's pov, and I'm not always on the same page as Lois, so if anyone has any critiques on her thought processes, please do let me know.
Wow, Bethy! First, I was literally gobsmacked at the dedication! Thank you so much! And anytime, re.the help for French. I only did very little, because you're pretty much fluent! I keep telling you; I'm very impressed at your handling of my very complicated and illogical language.
Now, on to the story... BaTP!
The only problem that I can see is... WHERE IS PART 2???????
I don't think you need to be worried at all about Lois's thought process. I think you have it down perfectly . I loved the part with Perry and his fake made up Elvis story. This line:
Quote
One of these days she was going to realize that most of the Elvis stories he told were made up on the spot.
I'm glad Perry's made it clear to her that she didn't *lie* to Lex. Miscommunications are much easier to wiggle out of And what a cool twist on the episode, that she took the ring before taking time to think about it!
Very witty, and I loved Perry's Elvis story -- I was suspicious of it even before he admitted he'd made it up, but how funny!
Eep! I've got crazy dudes with spears and axes chasing me wherever I go! I guess that means it's time to post part two.
But first, thanks to Kaethel, Laura, Wendy, Pam, Irene, Barb, Merry, Maria, Tricia, Jose and Saskia for your wonderful comments. I'm glad you guys liked Perry's made-up Elvis story , and I'm very happy that you think Lois is in character. Yay!
I'm late to the party again, so, yeah, what they all said.
I thought Lois was wonderfully in character, loved her problems with the ring, Perry's Elvis moment, and the thread of laugh out loud humour throughout.
I know this is twenty years later, but I really enjoyed this story! The funny parts about the ring getting caught on everything really made me laugh. Those five locks on Lois' front door. I sometimes forget they are there. What a cute backstory about her being domestic and that was the one time the locks failed. LOL! Yup. Total Miss Lane.
I recently wrote that because Lois did not have female friends who would she talk to in a crisis? I put in Molly Flynn. In this fic she goes to Perry, which is exactly what I wrote she shouldn't do! Boy, was a wrong!
