Let me know what you think.

I think I like every installment of this series more than the last. smile1

Love how Lois is completely taken by MagiKal and the desire to figure out his 'magic'.

And super duper love that Clark Kent now works (freelance at least) for the DP! Yay, Clark! grin

And the bit more insight into what is happening with Clark! So he doesn't only have problems with his powers going out of control, but also gets debilitating headaches, which are temporary (or cured by proximity to Houdini??)... Yikes!! The way you wrote Houdini being so protective over Clark is perfect!

Thank you again for sharing -- I love this story you're telling, and I can't wait for more!

Awesome. So the lack of control is just one issue he has to deal with.

And now Lois has met Clark Kent ^_^
Can't wait for more. Hopefully Lois discovers more of the mystery laugh

And we have contact!! hyper

But, in her search for MagiKal, Lois runs into Clark Kent! And the sparks fly! dance

This just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser! I have no idea where you are going with this magical tale, but I am definitely along for the ride.

Bakasi, if you are making this up as you go, then keep it up. You are doing an incredible job. clap clap

Indeed, I am making this up as I go. Which is a bit scary, I'll admit. But also fun. So glad you enjoy this.

And I'm so glad you're having fun with it!

Hi Barbara!
Quote
It's too long for a Ficlet, but hey Christmas is almost here.
Nah, it’s magic!

Quote
Short of securing an interview with MagiKal, there's no way I'm going to solve this mystery."
Ooh, she could dress up as a magician’s assistant and call out to him: MagiKal, why haven’t you returned my phone calls!

Quote
"Maybe magic is a mystery that is not supposed to be solved," Jimmy suggested.
He doesn’t know her yet. Just two years or so. He really should be forgiven for this kind of misconception.

PERRY: Hmm…no, he’s not ready yet for more than obits.

Quote
. "He's not a wizard, he's an illusionist
Hence the lack of a long, gray beard.

Quote
“And whatever it is, he doesn’t seem to have it completely under control.”
That's jumping to conclusions.

Quote
. "And I don't think he's any kind of threat. I could see he was worried about me."
He could also have picked her for his next victim and doesn't like switching after. So if something happened to her, he’d be inconvenienced.

Quote
The new freelancer,” Jimmy clarified. “Clark Kent.”
shock
I think he's just a wonderous word smith.

Quote
Yeah, about a dog show." Jimmy leafed through the paper until he found the page. "You should read it."
clap

Quote
Lois snorted. "You're suggesting I should read his article on a dog show?"
Yes. And it has quite a lot of ponies in it, too.

Quote
. "He seems to know a lot about dogs. It’s truly a unique perspective."
It’s as if he owns one.

Quote
As Lois looked up, she saw hands pointing at the large window. "He's here. MagiKal is here," someone yelled.
Eep!

Quote
How did he get up there?" she muttered.
Maybe he jumped the tall building in a single bound?

Quote
He'd never been this close to the Daily Planet.
I think that might change in the future.

Quote
“We’ll get him next time,” Jimmy tried to soothe her.
They could try and tie Lois to a chair then mount a net above her. When MagiKal comes investigating, drop the net.

Quote
Jimmy smirked. “Just don’t get lost in this, okay? Perry is going to have my head if his favorite reporter loses her edge because of an investigation I suggested.”
PERRY: You broke her, you buy her.
JIMMY: Huh?
PERRY: Obits duty, for the both of you. Kent here can cover the bank heist.

Quote
She turned a corner and went down a less crowded street. Her heart did a strange flutter and she shook her head at her own irrational behavior. She wasn’t going to find him here of all places, just because she so desperately wanted to. A dog barked.
Huh. Got her radar up and working.

Quote
The dog watched her with obvious apprehension. He tensed up, a low growl escaping his throat.
Worried the woman could also slobber all over his man’s face?

Quote
Can I help you, Miss?” The man asked, his voice soft and gentle. Lois didn’t know what to say, how to explain her strange behavior. As she was fighting for words, the dog suddenly tensed up again. He started to tug at the man’s sleeves, growing increasingly anxious with every passing second.
So, the powers are also lois-triggered?

Quote
I want to help him,” Lois tried to explain
You do not want to help the alien bomb.

Quote
She should call an ambulance! The dog barked again, loud and menacing.
‘no ambulance’ says the telepathic dog.

Quote
The man shook his head, one ear still firmly pressed to the dog’s chest, the other one covered with his hand.
Awww, he needs Houdini’s heartbeat. Maybe he should try switching to more potent stuff. Could get addicted, though, and him pressing his head against the DP’s top reporter in the middle of the newsroom would raise some eyebrows.

Quote
. “I’m Clark Kent. Nice to meet you.” “Lois Lane,” she said with a smile. As she took his hand, she felt a spark of electricity rush through her, a magic of its own kind.
Oooh, also, she didn’t recognize his name from earlier?

That was a magical encounter indeed. And now I’m looking forward to next Friday!

Yeah, you got it. I was wondering if maybe I had been a bit too subtle.

Thank you for reading and reviewing sloppy

smile1 I totally get that. The imagery was quite obvious for me. Plus it could be that Sara's frequent heartbeat-favorite-mention might have primed me a bit to look for it more in recent months. Either that or my own love for all things subtle and hidden clues evil

Bakasi…. Keep up the fun. This is incredible and need I say it, addictive? Somehow I can’t help but think Houdini is part of the problem. dizzy The combination of green K and red K + him just makes my thoughts lean in that direction.

Hope not!

Nice to see Clark is doing free lance work for the Daily Planet. thumbsup
