Only one complaint about this week's installment: too darn short! Although considering the time of year, thank you for posting this week! 
District 9's tribute has depart the Captiol, but more intrigues await him. One of a more personal nature. Rachel was bound to be hurt by Clark's attentions to Lois, but what else could he do? Lois saved his life when Platinum attacked. They formed an alliance in order to stay alive. This is the first rift between Clark and the people in Smallville.
He has very good friends! Ones who are willing to take care of Martha and Jonathan in case his does not return. But now things have changed...
The Capitol is isolating him.

Pete and Lana were holding hands and cheering for him, but Rachel stood back, looking at him with uncertainty and a touch of sadness.

Clark’s three young friends had resolved amongst themselves to help the Kents in their old age if they were able, since the odds of Clark coming back alive were so poor. All of them had spent time at the Kent home, where Jonathan and Martha had proven kind and generous even in the face of sometimes crushing poverty. Clark’s friends would not leave them to starve if they could help it.
