Aha, so now there was a first conflict, but they worked through it well. Now Robin needs to know, that if *he* misbehaves, he will be loved all the same.

It's so in character that Clark who willingly helps others, especially Lois, is reluctant to take help even from her.
I am so sorry for Robin. He must have been very rough time in foster homes, if he can't stand normal arguing between Lois and Clark.
He is always pushed away from one foster home to the next, so his solution is to leave the problem and the people behind him.

“With *our* savings,” she stated once more to be absolutely certain they were in agreement.
Clark smiled down at her. “With our savings,” he agreed.
“Thank you,” she told him as her arms went around his neck.
