As soon as I read the challenge I had this image of a giant Platypus a$$. It took awhile to get a story around it. Hope it works for you!

[Linked Image] [Linked Image] Oh, that's hilarious! I've got tears of joy in my eyes. clap Great job! [Linked Image]

I love the part where Lois sits on the egg to keep it warm. So, this is set in a alt-S3, where Lois and Clark are dating but Lois doesn't know that CK=SM.

This is just the total misnomer that Lois would fall for and what Clark would be humiliated by (both as Lois's friend and as Superman). Superman laid an egg. notworthy Terrific!

clap clap That was perfect! Too funny! I can only imagine Clark's reaction and the following conversation! Excellent job!

Now, why am I suddenly imaging a crossover between this story and a certain Dr. Seuss book... wink

Fun vignette.

Now that she's had some time to think about it she was certain – Superman laid his egg on Clark's balcony. He must have expected her partner to look after the egg until it hatched. Would it hatch a little superman? A superbaby? Suddenly she had another thought – this was her chance to get close to Superman. She would look after the egg and when it hatched, she would be the super…something's mom. Superman would appreciate what she did for his hatchling and it would draw them closer.
Priceless.

Great story!!

Great story Lonnie. The image of Lois cuddling up to an egg was hilarious! See, H.G. Wells was right, she does have motherly instincts!

Keep the comedy coming!

So glad you enjoyed it!

Virginia, this is set at mid S1. Hints - Cat is still at the Planet and Jessy Stephanovic is about 2 years old, whereas he was about 4 on COTOC. I think by S2 Lois and Superman have developed a certain intimacy and the whole egg thing wouldn't have workd.

He was sure the egg could wait till morning and decided it was time to go home and hit the shower.
Now we only need the bacon…

It would raise all kinds of questions he didn’t want her to dwell on.
Superman: Lois, Clark and I are *very* good friends. You must have known that I don’t just love him as a brother.

On its floor was a large… egg. Well, it looked like an egg but was very large, maybe 5 by 6 inches.
Gets a baaaad feeling about this.

Oh my gosh, how did I manage to miss this? confused I'm so glad I finally found your awesomely funny story, and enjoyed reading it very much.

She came over bearing pizza as a token of apology for their earlier argument, but Clark wasn't home. She easily broke in and settled on the sofa to wait, but he hasn’t come home in a long time and she must have fallen asleep.
One - and only one - very big surprise here - Lois came bearing a token of apology? Which universe is this?

A large figure was shadowed on the balcony's rail. It looked like a man, a big man, head cocked to the side like some giant bird.
Reading through your story again, this sentence strikes me as funny. Totally missed it in the first go. goofy

Finally she decided to do what any good mother would do – she wrapped up the egg from all sides to give it a good support and then gingerly sat on it. The egg didn’t crack and she breathed a sigh of relief.
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, this is priceless!

"Doesn't reproduce this way." Lois was flushed and getting more agitated by the second.
I'm rolling with laughter. Again. Much more of this, and I'll be losing a certain body part.

Quote
"Oh, really?" Cat practically purred. "Did you fail to seduce him, again?"
Getting off track, but I love this little interplay.

In for a penny, Lois thought and said "I saw Superman… laying an egg."
I'd love to know what Clark thinks about this. rotflol

Quote
"See? See how big it is, how shiny? That's Superman's egg!" Lois was triumphant. Cat was stunned. Jimmy and Ralph's eyes nearly popped out of their heads. Clark had a very odd look on his face.
I bet he does. laugh lol laugh

At that moment a small crack appeared on the top of the egg. Then another crack and another.

Everyone held their breath as the egg gave way to… the ugliest bird Lois had ever seen.
But baby ostriches are quite cute! See?

(Still love that story, though.)

Definitely Season 1, when Lois was wide-eyed and breathless about anything to do with Superman.

I think that when she finally discovers the CK=S truth, this could be one incident Lois will find very hard to forgive.

But for the rest of us, it is very funny.
