Cute but how would they cut his cornea? with kryptonite I guess?
Posted By: VirginiaR Re: FDK: Glasses 1/1 - 12/04/12 10:19 PM
Make him vulnerable with Kryptonite and cut with regular laser. I doubt cutting his eyes with a K laser would be a good idea.

This is clap And finally Lois realizing WHY Superman can't wear glasses. Terrific from beginning to end! Thanks for sharing. Keep them coming, Queenie!

Hi, Queen wave

As always, you are truly the master (mistress? laugh ) of the fun short that makes me smile.

As for this:

This...probably isn't very good, I'm sorry.

What great fun! I loved every moment of it. smile Poor Clark, losing and melting the lenses. I loved Lois' realization too, and her swift idea of Lazik surgery. smile

(My mom had Lazik surgery back when I was a kid - before they started cutting via laser - she had the scalpel done. It did *wonders* for her eyesight. So, don't worry, Clark!)

lol So good! Poor Clark! The troubles of being Superman! Adored the line about him 'leaving through the ceiling.'

Just having cataract surgery, I can totally relate. Now I can see "the ants on top of the mountain", but I can't read my thermostat.
Great story as usual.

laugh Very clever and funny, as I knew any Queenie short story would be. laugh

BTW, I ran into an old story on the archives called "A Future for Us." Given your interest in Superman/Lois vs. Clark/Lois relationships, you should give it a look if you haven't already.

"Lois," he interrupted, "I can't wear glasses."

She looked at him in puzzlement. "Why not?" she asked.

Lois glared at him. "Superman!" she snapped, clearly appalled. "I can't believe you! *You*, of all people, letting *vanity* get in the way of saving millions of lives?"
laugh

"In fact, I think I can just picture--" She lapsed into silence. The smile faded.

Clark looked at her, nervously. "Lois?"

"We'll talk to STAR Labs about getting you Lasik," she said.

I've worn contacts for 40 years so I can relate to losing them. I've had cataract surgery, and like Artemis, I can relate to seeing the ants but not the thermostat. Having had a retinal detachment and now being nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other, I totally understand. In other words, Queenie, I loved it!!!
