I am on my cell phone now. I'll be back later with proper feedback but I had to tell you that this was beautiful. I loved this chapter.

Okay, Lois is on the case and the hints we had earlier that she was finally admitting her true feelings are true. Now Superman needs to find her and she has to admit to him how she feels about Clark and plead with him to help. She's going to have a hard time recanting her statement to Henderson but that can be dealt with later.

Watch out Lana Lang. The real Superwoman in Metropolis is on the case and will search every inch of the city to find her man.

And prove his innocence.

You haven't got a snowball's chance in Hell of beating her.

Oh thank god! Lois Lane to the rescue! I'm so glad she's being her usual determined self and not another problem that Clark needs to fix. He definitely needs Lois in his corner.

I'm personally hoping Lois will side-kick Lana into a brick wall at some point during this story

I'm so glad, after three parts of increasingly bad circumstances for Clark, that this part is a significant change in his fortune! (Even if he doesn't know it yet!) Now I just hope that Lana doesn't find Lois before Clark is finished with the subway disaster.

I can't wait to see where you go from here!

Delightful. Now I am hoping Clark will go into hiding for a few days, as Clark not Superman, he can sleep at the Farm and be seen as Superman around the world.

Thinks I expect we will see

• Lois finding out Clark is Superman, not being told but figuring it out.
• Henderson being told about Clark by Lois withOUT Clark's permission or knowledge
• Lois turning in the murder weapon
• Confrontation between Lois and Lana

Oh boy, Clark has a real talent for messing things up. Now he has the murder weapon in his possesion, and his fingerprints are all over it. His only hope is Mad Dog Lane coming to his rescue.

Gotta love Lois's faith in Clark. She's exactly who he needs.

Phew. Okay. Lois is working on a rescue, and is already, undeniably on Clark's side. Henderson not believing it doesn't make it look good. I don't understand the witness thing- someone framing Clark? Or did they see him running after Mayson earlier, when she left the first time before the shot? My mind's all a jumble and I only hope we get more soon!!

Mouserocks, I think it was Lana running away. When she caught Clark by the police station, she was still wearing Clark's leather jacket, a pair of oversized jeans (probably Clark's) and a T-shirt. I guess that the lady taking care of her cat is that witness Henderson was talking about.

Oh no.

Oops, she's gonna think Clark got killed.

Oh no. Poor Lois.

Poor Lois. This is going to make her realize with 100% clarity how she feels about him though.

Oooh, she's gonna get answers.

The fingerprints - as the show never followed up on that, I assumed Clark must have applied a little heat smudging either at the time or later. Surely, it would be too risky to allow Superman's prints to be kept on record?

Hi, Corrina. I'm back

I told you above I loved this chapter, and promised to come back and tell you more. So, what I loved:

- Lois asking Perry if he'd called Clark. It clarifies that in her mind, she is not a lone reporter but part of a team. I liked it. I was a bit disappointed she mentioned Superman first, but given the circumstances, I suppose it's to be expected that she would ask if Superman were on the scene of a major accident.

- Lois not immediately thinking the commotion at Clark's building was related to him. I thought that was natural, that we do not immediately think anything like that can happen to us or our loved ones. It also built my, the reader's, expectations, as I wondered what her reaction would be, when she learned the murder was in Clark's apt. Would she think *Clark* had been killed? How would she react?

- Lois's reaction to learning the murder had been in Clark's apt.

This was a very dramatic scene, with Lois trying to convince herself that Clark will be OK because he *has* to be OK. This line, however, made me laugh out loud. So Lois.

What more is there to say? He's... Clark.

- I liked that, as soon as she learned Clark was OK, she asked about his parents.

- I loved that Lois knows that she knows that she knows that Clark. did not. do. this.

- I absolutely loved this:

and this... And, well, pretty much everything else. Great chapter! And now, let me go read and see what I missed while I was away...

ETA: back again to add my 2 cents on the issue of the fingerprints. as I remember, the police went to fingerprint Superman, but he put too much pressure on the pad and broke the desk or counter or whatever the fingerprint pad was on, and the police were just like, ok, whatever, forget the fingerprints, let's just go get your mug shot taken... So I don't believe there are fingerprints of Superman on file.

As I've said before, this fic isn't really about a murder case or a police investigation. It's about loyalty and friendship. We saw Clark's loyalty to Lois after she almost married Luthor. I thought this scenario was a good way to turn the tables.

The fingerprints - Now that you mention it, you could be right about Clark never actually being finger-printed. I think I need to go back and watch that episode again.

I remember, that Superman had pressed the table so hard, that it collapsed, so I assume they didn't get his fingerprints after all.

So amazing! The first chapters were so shocking and terrible, so unsettling with Lana's blatant insanity and Clark's inherent inability to tread over anyone else while standing up for himself, and now this chapter comes and it is so beautiful. After Clark worrying about Lois not believing him, I just LOVE that she immediately thinks he's the victim, that she instinctively knows he didn't do it, that she so determinedly is on his side all the way, and then the beautiful, wonderful lines about how she knows he loves her, how he and Luthor were so incredibly, incompatibly different, and how nothing Mayson could have done could have done anything to upset him more than what Lois had done.

Talk about putting Clark in a corner -- I hope he gets to find out soon that Lois did not doubt him for a second. And I hope that continues throughout because if she does have a moment of doubt, it will kill him and he doesn't need any more pain right now!

That's one of the things I love about him, and one of the things that makes him such fun to write.

The original premise for this story was that when Clark is being Superman, Clark Kent doesn't exist. Therefore, unless he spills the secret, there are times when he doesn't have any sort of alibi. From there, it was pretty easy to write him into a corner
