I'm glad that all who responded -- especially Corrina -- enjoyed the story. I had been nervous about posting it; writing comedy is always a bit risky.

Anti-K, my muse wasn't exactly in the mood to be considerate toward me. Not that I can particularly blame her. Author-I thinks that narrator-I was not a very nice person. And just for the record...Author-I has never been prone to violence, and to the best of my recollection, I have never in my life tackled, much less punched, anyone, nor have I ever even had the inclination to do so. Boy, this last paragraph makes me sound as though I have multiple personality disorder. Maybe author-I had better quit while I'm not too far behind.
