I’m glad they took the precaution of telling Perry that Lois needed a cover. It NEVER pays to underestimate Lex. And having Clark deliver the message in person as Superman was a great move.

I have to admit to being caught off guard when Perry said he looked familiar. I thought the idea of admitting to being Charlie was both inspired and dangerous. I agree that this was the best solution (and unexpectedly clever for Clark smile ) but it still carries an element of risk.

And that manila envelope… Hmmm???

Please don’t make us wait too long for the next part. smile1

Good part! I second Bobbart's comments... Using Charlie as Superman's identity is dangerous and clever. Good reasoning though. It's true that Perry would have mused on it for a while... but then, what's to keep him from jumping from Charlie to Clark? And isn't it sort of a part of the LnC mythos that maybe Perry knows the truth anyway? wink

It seems Daus may be a good guy, but he certainly is going to get tempted by Lex... where will it all lead? huh

And thanks for giving us more cozy Smallville scenes! Makes me yearn for the holidays some months away yet!

You know, it never pays to read while tired. I actually managed to overlook one teeny-tiny bit:
Quote
"Come into the conference room,"
And figured they where in Perry's office while talking and kept wondering what trick they where playing where they were telling Lex everything help Then I stopped and rechecked if you *really* set this in Perry's office blush

Quote
"Jimmy," Jimmy said. "First, could you just stand there with your arms folded and look stern?"
"Good... And now, look like you just caught Lex blowing up the children's ward of Met Gen. ... Great, one more where you get the key to Lois's chastity belt."

Quote
It wouldn't be until some twenty minutes later that another passenger alerted him to the presence of the large manila envelope that lay on the floor of the cab.
I don't know, who, but someone suggested in last part's FDK that Tony could be working for Lex. I don't believe that, but for a moment there you had me wondering.

So, 6?

Just to update everyone, I haven't quit posting but I've been sick for the last week. At first I thought it was just a cold but it has gone on to add aching joints, muscles full of shooting pains and a cough that feels like someone is trying to rip my lungs out every time I cough. Needless to say, I haven't felt much like writing. Once I'm over it, the posts will resume.

Still trying to find time to write. I'm mostly over the bug but Chuck and Steve both came down with it yesterday.
