Many thanks,

/waves/ You're back! jump

Well, there's the usual culture clash and footy stuff in there. Not to much to remark on that except that it's still working. I did wonder about the gummy shark, though. And when you did put it into the dictionary, went to google it. And, lo and behold, it really is shark.

Then there's Clark's pining away for Lois. And really can't just open up his mouth. Or actually, he could. After all, in at least Down Under, if Lois thought he overstepped, he would go home after three months and that would be it. *sigh*

The portrayal of the commercialism vs. the voluntary community is still startling. It makes the mingling by the AFL that much more seedier.

And then you dropped the subway-Esmeralda mess on us. Oh boy. Oh. boy. Oh boy. Lois sure is going to come to the natural conclusion, namely that Clark went back to the US for some early-morning nookie with his blonde girlfriend laugh

Can't wait to see how Lois will act around Clark the next time she sees him.

Great part! I was figuring Clark would have to rescue Lois from some bagger between the milk bar and home, but not so. The bagger was next door in the person of Esmeralda.

But Lois doesn't know Clark can fly home to the US!
Her assumption is that Clark found Esmeralda's charms better than her own and she's greatly disappointed. In him, and probably herself for her imagined lack of charm.

I have extremely little time, but I have to say that I love how you phrased this:

Quote
How would you feel about going out with me?

Would you mind if I kissed you?

Do you love Dan Scardino?

Have you noticed that I am captivated by you?

Do you have strong views about aliens?
Perfect!

I hate Esmeralda, and that comes as a surprise to you, no? After you took pains to make her so nice, I mean. But I really feel not-so-happy that you made Clark go into Esmeralda's flat (or are they called apartments, I didn't notice?) and then you have Martha call him and say that he has to head home to the States to rescue people. What will Lois say? What will she think?

Clark, maybe you really should ask her up front if she has strong feelings about aliens!

Ann

P.S., this thing about the Fitzroy merger...I have a feeling that Lois will step in and save Fitzroy, though I don't know how. I mean, she won't be the new Fitzroy footy star herself, will she???? eek

Yeah, you're back - I am so happy to see the new part being posted. I was wondering how I might possibly make it another day with 9 being up!

Great part and what's going to happen know to Lois and Clark - for Lois, there is only one conclusion regarding Clark and Esmeralda - if she only knew how wrong she could be ....

BTW, we also have Milo here, and Milo (the power to eat) with ice cream is divine smile

Looking forward to 10! smile1

Given your ending I am now anxious to read part 10 to see what happens next! smile

With regard to Milo, is it what we call Hot Chocolate here? It's made by Hersheys. If so, I can understand the Tim Tam Slam better.

Milo is a kind of hot chocolate - it is just filled with more vitamins and is, at least in South Africa, considered to be a healthier option to some extent.

Hmmm, Hot Chocolate made by Hersheys... now that sounds like it could be yummy - and that from me who hates tea, coffee and milo! - does it taste like actual chocolate?

From what I get from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_chocolate
the major difference between milo and hot cocoa is that our hot cocoa has no other ingredients. It is simply powdered chocolate. It is bitter unless you add sweetner.
You can get varieties with sugar in them and also malt.
Apparently, milo, like vegemite, was created for Australia and New Zealand as a way to get vitamins to the populace. We get most of ours in cereal or pills.

Good - because what we have here is normal to me and I really needed the help of Iolanthe, Deja Vu, and my daughter's Canadian friends to try to contrast the situation here with what others are used to.

Thanks, Michael.

I don't think it will be what you are expecting. wink

Thanks, Seme.

Lynn More coming soon. Thanks for asking!

Artemis Thanks!

That's probably what a lot of women would think.

Ann

I have plans for Esmeralda!

Flat/apartment/unit - when I'm in Clark's POV, he still occasionally thinks of his home as an apartment.

The Fitzroy merger - What happens in the fic will be what happened in RL. That's about all I can say now.

Thanks, Ann.

DW Yes - Milo on ice cream is delicious - so you can eat it, but I couldn't resist allowing Lois to have a little fun at Clark's expense.

Thanks, DW.

Sarah Maybe Lois might think that Clark has gone to Esmeralda ... but maybe not ...

Thanks.

Elizabeth I'll get part 10 to you ASAP (tonight/tomorrow morning). I'm trying to write parts 20 and 21 and get them to Iolanthe.

Milo - Milo comes in a powder about the consistency of bread crumbs. It is made from malted barley, milk solids, sugar and cocoa (according to the packaging). It does taste chocolatey, but is different to hot chocolate. It can be drunk hot or cold, and, as DW mentioned, is wonderful sprinkled on ice cream. It is described as an 'energy food drink'. As Artemis said, it also contains added vitamins.

I just found Tim Tams in a local Pepperidge Farm outlet store. They are every bit as good as described in the story. :-)
