Oh, this was pure, unadulterated WaFF - just what I needed today. It's nice to see Lois actually notice how Clark is what she wants and to actually do something about it. Oh, and I loved how subtle Lois is when she decides to make her interest known... Aww at the declarations of love and nice reveal at the end. Thanks for posting!

I suddenly remember why I love your writing so much.

I loved how Lois was okay with being alone on New Year's. She wasn't pathetically looking for someone, but she wasn't closed to the idea of being together with Clark either.

Loved the amiable ribbing.

I liked how she assesses that their evening feels date-like and how she determines to go about examining their relationship in the same way she would go about an investigation. The oops test was cute and the come-upstairs-so-we-can-kiss-at-midnight test was sweet.

His promise to explain later why he was in the bathroom for so long held some potential, particularly since he didn't say something like, "I found a book in the bathroom and I wanted to scan to the ending." And the ending held so much promise for a new start in the new year.

Thanks for the kind words! I was nervous about posting this, so it's really great to hear these reactions.

I'm glad the ending worked -- they kind of went wordless on me. Not a whole lot of dialog in this story, though, so I guess it didn't seem too out of place.

Yep. Now, mind you, "later" could be a few weeks or months... but he did want to tell her sometime.

And she's so subtle -- but look, she's checking the water level before she jumps!

Anyway, I really appreciate you all taking the time to tell me you enjoyed this... it makes me want to write more but I really don't know when I'd have time for that... <sigh> Classes for the winter quarter started yesterday, and tomorrow we're going to visit relatives, so I get to do homework while on vacation!

Pam, this fic was wonderful. It's the kind of story that puts a smile on my face. 'Adorable' is really the more appropriated word to describe it. I love WAFFy stories and this one was all that I could wish for in a fic.

I hope you find time to write more. I'll be looking forward to new stories of yours.

This was so sweet. I loved that Lois just sort of let the Superman thing go at the end - at least for then. It fit with her attitude in the rest of the story.
