As poignant as always.
These fics always touch us personally. Mom wanted pictures taken at her funeral (James' mom), so I took pictures of the floral arrangements and photo display. Then her crazy sister posed us all by the urn. What a horrible moment! Who takes pictures at funerals?

Glad to have you back with a story, Nancy. It was beautiful, but so, so sad.

You already know what I think how much I enjoyed this story. Let me just say that I'm glad you decided to post it.
So sad, but beautifully written.
Thanks for all the great feedback, guys!!
But I have a question. Did anyone question who the speaker in the story was?
My first inclination was Lois, but I guess it could be Martha.
James
I wrote it with the idea that it could be either Lois or Clark depending on how you looked at the story.
I took it to mean Clark died since the son was so protective of the speaker. How that you said it I could see Clark as greiving for Lois.
Oh my gosh I lurved it! It was truly beautiful work. And I really could see it as both Lois or Clark..
I read it from Lois' POV, probably because Clark is so strong I can't envision someone needing to prop him up. It's equally as poignant from Clark's POV.
