A good first step, the language barrier is broken, maybe these two cultures can meet without bloodshed.
Meanwhile Ching and Zara pick Lori and Clark's brains for defense measures. Come up with the idea of a sabot device was an excellent move. Now here comes the part that annoying; Ching and Clark so off to work with the engineers, leaving Lori and Zara to sit around for girl talk!
If that is the case, what is Lori doing there? She could have remained at home with little CJ!

Hi Morgana, Thanks for the FDK! Why would Lori need to go with Kal to see the engineers? He is perfectly capable of handling that chore. As for, why is Lori along? As Herb would say 'Only time will tell'.

I would have thought she might be a tad curious about what the engineers are coming up with?

Hi Morgana,
There was no need. Lori, has an extensive knowledge of firearms. As soon as Kal mentioned a rail gun she nodded her understanding of the device.
Keep in mind that they do have a cover story. By spending tome with Zara she is getting background material on NK for the articles she and Clark will write when they return to Earth.
