Glad I read this. Lex is really a skunk in this story.
Lois, unionize pros? Can't she just bust the ring instead?
Love the last few paragraphs with Bill Henderson. He is a wonder. It really is clever how Superman is there, but not there. Gives Bill a nice little mystery to solve on top of everything else.

That Lex was more of a sharp businessman with dark aspects, but not a monster.

Yes, my Lex is just a little bit darker than canon, but you need to realize, we are still in the Alt universe.
