No clones.
No amnesia.
No Wedding Destroyer.
No HG Wells.
No consummation curse.
I hope that it was okay to skip all that silliness. dizzy

Comments here please.

Hey, what do you mean, no amnesia? I know, I know -- Clark not Lois and it isn't keeping them apart! dance

Great stuff, but here still holding out hope that you will find and bring Jonathan and Martha back to them.

Can't wait to see how you have Lois figure out Clark's secret and of course, Clark too!

Ditto to everything Evelyn said. Another wonderfully written chapter, and I am so looking forward to where this vision issue is taking them! Bring back Superman!

Waiting eagerly for the next instalment!

those funny double images.
Drat, I was hoping the powers would not come back. I was looking forward to an epilogue where their son appears as Superman.

Or perhaps a sequel set in 2010 when their ten year old son begins to manifest powers. After all it is 1993 in the tale, it leaves them seven years to the birth of their first child, plenty of time for them to win the Pulitzer.

Wonderful! Wonderful! I'm glad that they didn't wait to get married.

Hee hee! Clark's powers are starting to come back. Getting everything he wanted - marriage to Lois and Lex out of the picture - must have done the trick! I can't wait for Lois to see him straight from the shower (or perhaps in the shower) with his hair slicked back.

Looking forward to the next chapter!

I just figured it was the sun finally shining through, recharging him. But those storms did give them plenty of quality time before this. clap

Yes! Yes! Yes! smile1 smile1 smile1

They are married. Lovely!

I like the explanation about Clark's glasses. Without them, he is sometimes seeing double.

And yes, the return of his powers must have something to do with the emerging sunshine.

Looking forward to more!

Yay! I was waiting to see what would happen when Clark's powers came back (although I kinda like Framework's second idea above). They've been figuring things out pretty quickly but I'm hoping they don't figure out the thing with the powers too quickly--it's too much fun imagining both their reactions when Lois wakes up and finds Clark floating in the air.

More, please!

And thank you for skipping the clones.

More soon! No chance of you taking a little snippet to the nfic side huh? Well either way his powers returning should be interesting. Laura

Hi everyone,

I guess the “No amnesia” is sort of silly in context. But everyone knows what I’m talking about. They belong together and there’s no reason to wait.

And loved how Perry reacted to it all.
Thank you. After seeing this chapter I wish I would have done more of the story from Perry’s POV.

Yes, those double images may prove interesting.

Way back at the beginning I did flirt with the idea that the powers might be gone forever, but it wasn’t the story that I wanted to tell. Besides, Dandello just did that ending in “Taking Down a God.” If I had written that ending, I’d be scrambling to change it to something different now. smile

Hmmm… Now that might be an interesting scene. We’ll just have to see if water and the bathroom play a role in a revelation.

Well, we know he’s super powered, but he doesn’t even know he’s Superman so there’s been no reason to try to get out in the sun. That is a good question though, by canon, do scientists know that Superman is solar powered by this point in S1? I didn’t think so.

I hate to point this out to you, but this was chapter 24 of 26. Either I’m planning to do something fairly nasty shock I don’t trust my talents in that direction. I’ve enjoyed many nfic stories but I’m terrified that if I tired to write it, it would be a horrible mix of badly written porn. I feel like I have trouble enough with what I do write. I guess we’ll have to leave the more “interesting” parts of their new marriage to the imagination.

You know, of all these I think I get most upset by the Wedding Destroyer. After the clones, amnesia and finally the NKs, they owed us a nice, clean, happy wedding episode. Instead they gave us the Wedding Destroyer and ruined their wedding. That was totally unnecessary. wallbash mad splat

So thanks everyone. I had planned to post chapter 25 tonight but it’s run into a snag. Maybe tomorrow. In any case it won’t be too long.

You are all such a wonderful audience.

Love this story, however, why do I keep getting a nagging idea that Lex is not out of the picture yet... eek

Hi James,

Yes, Lex is still out there. In my comments a few chapters back I said this about Lex
Quote
Never, ever underestimate Lex Luthor. Until he’s confirmed dead, he’s a deadly opponent. And even then, he’s extremely dangerous.
We'll see. evil
