So Lucy's figured out the secret already? And she hasn't told anyone? That's a bit odd, I think. I'd really like to learn how she figured it out, because Lucy doesn't have the reputation of being a deep thinker or a dedicated investigator. Nor do we think of her as a particularly reliable person. But she's obviously all that and a peanut butter sandwich in this story. Go Lucy!

So is Lucy going to be there at the casino with Clark and Lois? Is someone else going to end up being shot, maybe Lucy when she jumps in front of Clark to protect Superman from being exposed? Or will Lucy spill "the secret" to Lois when Clark is dragged out the back door by his heels? You've all kinds of directions this one might go, all of them very interesting.

Sure wish you'd post a little quicker. My desk is getting fingernail scars in the top.

Nice tale thus far.

didn’t want to ruin the surprise by making it obvious from the start where the story was heading,
That line makes me want to stop reading right now. Running into bits of TOGOM didn't faze me as I figured if Lois is not talking to Clark and Lucy is taking up his evenings that Clark would not be Lois's escort to the nightclub and thus would not get shot.

But that line seems to say this will go down that oft treaded path.

He didn’t even hear her when she finished her sentence by whispering: “Superman.”
So Lucy knows? Reminds me of Tank's "That Blind Sister Of Mine"

Well, it is a new twist that Lucy figured Clark out, but it makes sense if you stop to think about it. Lucy has been spending a lot of time with Clark, which means that he has pulled his disappearing act on her at least a few times. Since Lucy is coming into this with fresh eyes, as opposed to Lois's anti-Clark prejudices (which are really self-defense against her own attraction to him), Lucy is a) less likely to write his odd behavior off as 'that's just so Clark!' and b) once she starts to think of it, more willing to accept the idea that Clark could be Superman because she hasn't got him in a preconceived hick category in her mind.

It does seem that Clark is being a bit of a doormat to let himself be manipulated into seeing Lucy so often, but, given how he responded to Mayson when she pulled something similar, it is in character. That boy has got to learn how to draw some boundaries with pushy women.

I will admit that I, too, was surprised that Clark fessed up to Lois so quickly, but this is even better than the jealous Lois that we were all expecting after the first part. You've refused to go down the predictable path and brought in a whole new level of complication, and a real reason for Lois to be truly jealous. Lucy is playing with fire, but that, too, is in character. It's a good thing Clark is in no danger of falling for Lucy, or she would be guilty of leading him on as well.

Looking forward to seeing what twists and turns you take with TOGOM.

I also think Lucy might have figured Clark out because she's not blinded by Superman like Lois is.

Ha! Famous last words! laugh

Perry: (To Lois) Honey, this could be greatest story since Superman came to town. By-the-by, where is that husband of yours?

Well, if Lois ever finds out that Lucy figured it out faster than her she's really going to feel stupid. rotflol

More soon, please!

I never saw TOGoM coming. Interesting twist. And speaking of twists, Lucy finding out was completely out of the blue.

Fun!

Looking forward to Lois becoming aware of her little sister's territory encroaching laugh

Oooh, feedback! hyper

Terry, you wouldn’t really want me to post faster, would you? I’d vanish back into lurkerville rather quickly if I posted it all in quick succession!
Framework4, ah, all I mentioned was that it was heading into the TOGOM storyline, which it already has done by this point. I didn’t say *how* far I was going into it. I’m not sure if I’ve read that fic, I’ll have to check it out!
HappyGirl, you’ve pretty much hit the nail on the head with why I decided to have Lucy figure it out. My assumption has always been that Lois didn’t because to her Clark was Clark, it just didn’t occur to her to think any deeper into his disappearances and connection to Superman.
lcfan99, that’s true as well, about Lucy not being blinded by Superman. I hadn’t thought of that.
Tara, maybe Lois will never find out that Lucy figured it out so soon? huh
Michael, really, even with the title you didn’t see TOGOM coming? Yay! I really didn’t want people to see the title and think ‘oh, another TOGOM’, but ‘That Little Sister of Mine’ was the best title I could come up with - it works so well!

Thanks for all the comments, guys. Part Three should be up sometime this weekend, probably on Sunday.

No, I absolutely didn't make the connection. In fact, I only made it after reading your response here goofy blush All I can say is that I probably didn't feel too creative and the whole 'That little sister of mine' conjured up a Lois/Lucy escapade and lot's of fun there and wham, my mind was locked in it's thread huh

The title had me totally confused. I was sure it was another epic TOGOM (epic in 5 parts, mind you), but then it didn't head out that way.

Not sure if I think that LL could figure out THE SECRET in only a few days when LL couldn't figure it out.
