Delightful tale.

I somehow don't think you put that line in because she really would be safe.

What evil thing happens between the end of this and the start of the sequel?

Whoa! How can you end it there? This definitely calls out for a sequel. You left our hero and heroine just beginning to get to know each other. And Lex is still uninvestigated, untrammeled, and free to do his dastardly deeds!

Plus, so far there's nary a hint of the cape.

You've got some writing to do, Missy! wink

P.S. I loved the fic. The bit with the car chase was inspired. It makes total sense that Clark would do that, and I loved how you described how he controlled the car's trajectory so they landed and it looked "normal". Great fun!

I am intrigued by this sister business. There is much more that you haven't let us in on yet!

And who is trying to kill them?! The car chase was great...this Clark definitely knows what he's doing in using his powers surreptitiously.

Can't wait for more!

Of course you already know that this is not an end. More like the end of Act I. Looking forward to Act II.

I loved this whole part: the plan at the ball, Lois's reaction to Lex, the car chase, and the fact that they are trying to take things slow. This Clark is a lot of fun and we can see why Lois is so attracted to him, and vice versa.

Great job. thumbsup

Wow. Thank you all! Yes, Clark gets the cape next. So who's going to make The Suit, hmmm?
And will there really be an eclipse?
Gotta do other stuff for a month. Then I'll be back.

Artemis, your Clark is quite more forward than the usual Type-S Clark from the pilot. But it's a lot of fun seeing him leave his mark laugh

Wonder if Lois' mumbling about three rules was more like 'forget the three rules'.

Of course, ending Act 1 like this really is not a nice thing to do. Reminded me a bit of the end of James Bond - Casino Royale where the next Bond literally took off where Casino ended.

Sorry I've been off the boards for so long. I had to play catch-up on at least the last four parts, maybe five.

This didn't seem like a solid ending. It actually seemed to end better before Clark came in to the Planet for the first time.

I hope there isn't a big lag between posting the two stories, since I don't want to lose the momentum you have going here. Very intriguing.

Thanks again for all your comments. That really helps.
Well, I'm back, but I still have to do a bunch of other stuff. In my time away I had time to contemplate this story and decided this last post really isn't the end of this story. I'm thinking two or three parts more. After all, Clark has to go check on Lois to make sure she's safe, right?
The cape comes in the next story "Nighttime in the Daytime."
See you soon, I hope.
