Feedback would be appreicated.

And special thanks goes to Elisabeth for helping me understand that Kiley's parents would have a hard time trusting her for keeping Larry away from them for so long. Like a "lie of omission." I did go into that in this chapter, and there is more to come on that topic.

Once again, let me know if the casino plot works better.

I think Lois and Clark went about this in the totally wrong way. As a parent, you never want to dis your child's boyfriend/girlfriend. That only makes them dig in their heels. They feel that the parents don't respect their judgement, and that the parents are treating them like immature kids.

Far better to react with silence, or to damn with faint praise.

I can understand Clark and Lois' immediate explosion but look at where it's left Kiley. Now she feels she has to choose between her family and her boyfriend, who has already proven himself to be hot-tempered and judgmental.

I only hope that Lois and Clark start an investigation about Larry and find out some unsavory things in his past or some deal-breaking character issues.

Is it ethical to put Larry in a tense situation where he has to make some sort of choice that will reveal his character? And reveal it in front of Kiley? Before she tells him the big secret?

Boy this is bad. Now the fan spread the ugly stuff all over the room dizzy

LnC are certainly doing a transference thing. At one point they even just talked about Luthor, like Larry is just a clone with the same personality or something. This is so bad huh

I might get more FDK in the next few days, but I'd like to respond to you two today anyway.
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it.

IntheAlias - I think pretending they were okay with Larry would be totally out of character for Lois and Clark.
Lois once said, "Hey, when I get upset, I shoot my mouth off," on the show. And she did. That's what she's doing here. Certainly 25 years and three kids would have softened her some, but not THAT much. Add to that and she's really hurt that Kiley kept something like this from them.

Clark, of course, tends to lose his temper less than Lois does/did, but Luthor's always got his dagger up. So that's what's happening here.

And I think Kiley would be a lot more hurt if Lois and Clark pretended to be okay with Larry while they investigated him behind her back.
But, yes, course, Kiley does feel incredibly hurt and toren between her parents and Larry, as illustrated in the last passage of this part.

Michael- Yes, that's exactly what they're doing here. But I think it's completely understandable given their histories with Luthors. (And not that I'm trying to point fingers or anything, but who kept wondering when Larry was going to spring Kryptonite on Kiley early in this story?)They haven't got to know him. They see the name and jump to conclusions.

Like Michael, I, too, was struck by how much LnC spoke about Larry as "Luthor" and clearly made no distinction between Larry and Lex. I think, given their individual and joint histories, this is not surprising - I would guess neither of them have had to go through much that was as painful as the things they went through at the hands of Lex.

I do hope, though, that they get some clarity back and call Kiley to talk it over like rational adults. Right now, I wouldn't blame Kiley for choosing Larry all the way - at least he isn't asking her to choose between them. This is probably my stubbornness coming through, but whenever I've been asked to choose between two people, I always choose the person not asking me to choose.
