Hmmm a different twist on the ep. So what happens next? Laura

It looks like Lois isn't the only poacher on the Daily Planet's staff. I wonder if Cat will own up to the error of her ways, or if she'll try to blame her predicament on Lois. Either way, it will give Clark a new look at at least one of the ladies on the news staff.

Maybe he'll see Cat in a more favorable light. Or maybe he'll see Lois in a less favorable light. Or maybe he'll just lock them in the storage closet and let them fight it out.

Or maybe he'll throw up his hands and move to South Dakota.

Interesting. I really thought Lois got cleaned up. Cat was a total surprise.

But how did Cat manage to get the map? After all, Clark mailed it to Lois apartment. Or did she steal it before delivery boy could pick it up?

Anyway, funny story. Looking forward to part 2.

Interesting premise but I would have loved to have finished reading the story (hint, hint).

Thank you for your comments. They are appreciated. I'd like to take the time to respond to each of you individually since you took the time to read my short story and comment on it.

Yes; the first chapter was more of a set up for what I have planned for chapter 2.

You can read what happens next in chapter 2, which will be posted by the end of the week.

There will be a few words exchanged by Lois and Cat in the next chapter...

Actually, I have a few different alternate endings for the episode Neverending Battle in my head, and Lois getting cleaned up before heading into the Daily Planet is one of them. It’s my favorite episode of the show, so a lot of my fanfic ideas involve the episode in some way. Maybe, one day I'll write some more alternate endings to Neverending Battle, but first, I should probably focus on this short story.

I'll explain how Cat got the map in chapter 2...

Thanks for bumping this thread up and giving me some extra motivation to finish the short story. As stated in my earlier comment, expect to see an ending by the end of the week.

Good! I'm eager to see what happens with all three of these very interesting people. Love the twist!

I'm referring to the plot twist, not the dance.
