LOL, great story. I remember seeing this some time back on the ZMB and liking it then, too. Glad you decided to repost it here for us, Messenger.
I loved Dan "coming on" to Clark in the apartment and that Mayson drew such a wrong (though understandable, especially considering her ego would surely have been bruised by Clark standing her up on that weekend trip) conclusion. And Clark countering all of Lois's arguments -- I love it! (Especially the part about her picking out many of his suits -- now that's a story I'd love to see <bg>).
But my favorite part had to be this:
A large man in a shiny black leather outfit stood outside the door.
“I heard you were looking for a date.”
Dan blinked. “I think you’ve got the wrong guy.”
“Naw. Spike said to say hello.”
That's my Clark! You show 'im!
And great happy ending for our favorite couple.
