Thanks, Caroline, for a nice start to what I plan to be a relaxing evening of self-indulgence. before you can even say--"
"Lois…" Clark said, trying to interrupt her tirade.
"That's right, before you can say Lois!" she agreed emphatically, As if in slow motion, the faceless man brought the knife to Lucy's neck. With one clean movement, he ran it across the skin, slitting her throat. Her shrill scream pierced Lois ears and echoed on and on. Eeek! Great segment, Caroline - tense, funny, lovely characterisation and some beautiful introspection. Business as usual, in other words. More - just as soon as RL lets up! LabRat
Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly. Aramis: Yes, sorry. Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

"Think about it this way; at lease we're together, Lois. I mean, you're not sharing a cell with a woman named Large Marge who hasn't bathed in a month." Clark walked up to Lois and took her hand in his comfortingly.
"Maybe I'd rather be with Large Marge." I'm not sure if an angsty ending is any better than an evil cliffhanger. Jen

Him Great part! "Found your sister yet?" the inmate queried. Lois stopped dead in her tracks. Nobody knew about Lucy's disappearance except for the police, Clark, Jimmy since he was probably questioned about it, and probably Perry -- since Perry knew everything. How did this man know?
"No? Oh, that's too bad. Wait… No, it's not. She deserves every bit of it, the nasty whore." the man taunted. Why they didn't ask the police, Who was that man? Lois woke with a start, bathed in her own cold sweat. Lucy's scream still resonated in her head, and her heart pounded like the beat of a hummingbird's wings.
Sitting up in bed, she let the tears fall freely. You are

Part 7 is gonna be good! But I agree...this still ends with a cliffhanger. ~L.L Wanna Be

Well, I guess this (and the last part) means that Lois is over her anger at Clark.
Of course, Clark, being the stupid one, still has his doubts over Lois' affections. He doesn't deserve her. Maybe there's someone else out there who wants Lois (perhaps someone who likes sisters?).
Anyway, a nice angsty ending. Not really a ciiffhanger since it was a dream.

Ok.. now Superman is gonna come & Lois & Clark are gonna cuddle, and maybe some smoochies will be thrown in there, then they live happily ever after right?! Oh no wait... there's still the little Lucy problem... Darn it! Lol... keep up the great work, I'm loving this story!

Clark: You are really high maintenance, you know it? Lois: But I'm worth it.
Clark: Not exactly what you had in mind, huh? Lois: Let's see. So far I've been given a glimpse of ritual crop worship, been treated as your girlfriend, and insulted your parents. No, I couldn't have planned this.

Caroline Another great part! Lois and Clark's introspection is excellent. Extremely well-written! How does that prisoner know about Lucy? I'm enjoying this immensely and can't wait to find out what happens next. Tricia

Caroline, I’m just now getting caught up from not having been on the boards in a month, so I just read all the parts to your wonderful story posted so far. You’ve got some lovely cliffhangers in there, don’t you? Very . There’s angst, humor, waffy moments, introspection, suspense – all in very nice balance. Well, of course I would be happier to see more smoochies, but I’m assuming that they’ll come with time as the story progresses. I can be patient. I’m definitely intrigued, and looking forward to future installments. Now that I’m all caught up, I guess I’ll be screaming with everyone else at all the cliffhangers too... :p KathyM

I'm enjoying your story very much, Caroline; you did a particularly nice job with the pacing and tempo. I'm getting pretty worried about Lucy, though. Will we be seeing part 7 soon? snarla2

I'm afraid it wasn't. And it's a shame, too; such a great story...
