Great part, Sue.

Quote
She watched the far-away figure of Clark below her, seeing him tip his head back and laugh along with Jim. What were they laughing about? Her melancholy deepened - how long had it been since she had seen Clark laugh like that? She missed his laugh. She missed him. Did she love him? She didn't even need to ask - she knew that she did. Her life would be so much simpler if she could just stop loving him.
"I wish I knew how to quit you!" L&C-style wink

I really loved the bit where she has this monologue going on, knowing that he's listening. It illustrates how special he is and how well she knows him.

I thought it was funny that Lois would gladly hike several miles in the wrong direction just to prove him wrong. That's so her.

And I'm glad they're starting to get things worked out.

Clark: "Lois? She's bossy. She's stuck up, she's rude... I can't stand her."
Lana: "The best ones always start that way."

Kinda sweet and hopeful, but mostly sad... Sue, you've gotta fix this soon; you're killing me!

"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed.
He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement."
"You can say that again," she told him.
"I have a...."
"Oh, shut up."

Hee hee, I second that Yvonne. I told Sue that repeatedly.

That whole one-sided conversation by the lake totally got to me. I loved it.

Can't wait for a sneak at part 6, Sue.

Poignant!

If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.
