Best Christmas present ever, Shayne. Good to know that some version of alt-Clark finally got his alt-Lois.

He can laugh out loud later, after they say their vows.

Oh, WAFFy! Poignant and sweet. Lovely, Shayne!

I love the end lines, especially.

Just the thing to start my morning with. Thanks for sharing.

And pssst. If you want to rush it on over to the Archive, I'll see if I can get it into the last upload of the year. It shouldn't take much to GE. wink

Wonderful, Shayne. I love the idea that Superman would get into the Christmas spirit sufficently to dress up as Santa Claus, and I love the idea that he would bring presents primarily to poor children. I totally love the image of him squeezing down chimneys, ruining his Santa suit! I love the idea that he would move slowly in the house if a child happened to see him, so that the child would get a good look.

I felt so sorry for Clark, because he was convinced that he would never have a family and children of his own.

I love how the first line and the penultimate line of your vignette both tell us what was the hardest part for Clark... but at the end, the hardest part was not squeezing down chimneys but refraining from laughing out loud for joy, when another Santa Claus - Santa Wells - had brought him his most wonderful Christmas present ever, Lois Lane!

Wonderful vignette, Shayne!

Oh, this was just lovely, Shayne. Clean and elegant and very touching, hopeful without being saccharine - in short, a perfect way to start my day.

I should take this opportunity, too, to tell you that I've read most of your archived stories and am a huge admirer of your writing; your style is just gorgeous and always leaves me green with envy.

And this story was no exception! Thank you smile

Best,

Caroline

Very nice Christmas story. I loved it. Alt-Clark as Santa. *giggles*

What a nice image sending Clark through the chimneys. And his slowing down for child's eyes. WONDERFUL!!!!

Do I have to mention the waffy happy end?

Thanks so much for sharing! sloppy

Wow, Shayne, that was very nice. I was wondering at the beginning if it was Santa or Superman, but I wasn't guessing both. And I love the end!

How sweet! I loved it!

First, you masterfully made us feel the emptiness that Clark felt in his life without his Lois, and the way helping the poor kids at Christmas can make him feel better. And then, you give him his Christmas present too. That was so touching. I loved it!
