I needed this more than you think. Hope everyone enjoys it, well, even if the subject matter is hard.

Hugs. I'm so sad your life is rough right now, but sometimes we definitely need to learn to stand alone and reach out to others from a position of stability within ourselves, instead of relying on them to stabilize us. I've certainly been there in my own life. Keep putting one foot forward. You'll make it.

Hi Carrie! With everything going on in my life, I needed to write something. Thank you, Bek, for editing this for me.
/Hugs/ What she told him was the truth: no one had the right to live her life except for her.
This poignant sentence would also work great with the ARGH and with soul hopping. It had taken her years to find someone like Clark. To trust someone, to feel worthy of someone’s love, and now she had found it. Now she knew what it meant to lose it.
:mercy: When they’d finally crossed that line and became more than partners, she’d been shocked at how easy it’d been. Not so easy in the moment, maybe, but the feelings—those had been easier to let happen, even if, at times, she’d wondered about his secrets.
Her heart won out over her brain. And being alone with Clark was one thing she couldn’t do ever again. She had never needed a man to validate her before; why did she need it now?
Being alone. Being alone with Clark. Great juxtaposition. Also, feminist Lois questioning herself. Just yesterday I had a season two episode of Ally McBeal on with that exact trope. Closing her window, she turned around and picked up the pillow. Then she tossed it back on the couch, wiped her eyes, and held her head high, and she walked alone, one foot in front of the other, down the hallway to her bedroom.
Beautifully written Poor Lois! Michael

Your story touches on some very important points: valuing your own individuality and independence and, despite everything, holding on to a thread of hope for love. Both things are essential. [...] sometimes we definitely need to learn to stand alone and reach out to others from a position of stability within ourselves, instead of relying on them to stabilize us.
Beautifully said, Verity. Hugs <3
Stories are written by the victors. (Hmm, come to think of it, that's not the exact quote...)

Thank you, Verity. If Lois can do it, I can do it. Thank you, bakasi. Glad you enjoyed it. Gahhhhh so sad and emotional!! *HUGS*
Thank you, KSaraSara. It was a part I've wanted to write for a long time. Those scenes always breaks me. Hi Carrie! With everything going on in my life, I needed to write something. Thank you, Bek, for editing this for me.

Hope the thread of strength and stability was reached. If so, hold onto it with both hands.

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.
