Dr. Klein nodded again. He then took a deep breath and pushed his glasses back up onto the top of his head. His troubled brown eyes had dark circles underneath, suggesting he hadnāt been sleeping well.
Oh man, if Bernie is having trouble sleeping...
āH-how long do I have?ā His voice was hoarse and shaky, and he dropped his confident faƧade as he took Dr. Klein up on the offer to sit.
Poor Clark. This is definitely worst case scenario country.

Both men turned abruptly to the door, and Superman jumped to his feet as he recognized the angry, scowling woman standing in the doorway, her hands on her hips and her blazing eyes trained on him.
Somehow I knew Lois was going to make an appearance at the worst possible moment.

Superman grinned at him and then turned and strode toward the door, his smile fading quickly. He hoped sheād give him a chance to explain himself before she killed him, especially since all of this was about him trying to avoid dying. He swallowed hard. This was going to be another long night.
Maybe it was a good thing Lois showed up. Dig your regular clothes out of the cape's pocket. The ride home is going to be rough.
Shouldn't Bernie know who Superman really is by now?
