I just saw a blurb mentioning the new James Gunn Superman movie. Has anyone seen the trailers? Opinions?

I'm very excited. After the "dark Superman" era, I'm happy to have Superman as a symbol of hope and optimism again.
I like all the casting. The actors look like expected for the characters.
For the first time Jonathan and Martha will be alive and supporting Clark as Superman. Lois and Clark was the only live action adaptation where that happened and I love it.
Lois and Clark have chemistry, different from the previous movie versions. His few scenes in the previews were great.
As in Lois and Clark, there will be an emphasis on showing that Clark is a man and not a god.
Krypto is the cherry on the cake. So cute! I'm hyped!

Generally, I liked what I saw of the moments between Lois and Clark or the interaction with his parents. But I feel like there's too much going on with villains. I'm not sure how they could weave everything what they've shown in the trailers into one half-way decent plot.
It's never too dark to be cool.

So I'm the only one having trouble wrapping my head around Mrs. Maisel playing Lois? Don't get me wrong, I think Rachel Brosnahan is awesome. I'm just having trouble seeing her as Lois Lane.

From what I've seen in the trailer, RB doesn't mich remind me of Mrs Maisel. I get more of a Margot Kidder vibe, there's also a bit of Bitsie Tuloch. All in all, she kind of fits as Lois Lane on the silver screen. And they're all different from TH, so... Michael

I went to see the new Superman movie today, and what really stuck out for me was all the animals. One of the heroes is a dog (Krypto, who has very bad manners), plus one of the threats Superman faces is a giant, fire-breathing animal. Also, Superman rescues a dog and a squirrel, and the trolls on social media are actually trained monkeys (which tracks, although I think monkeys would probably be a lot smarter than most of the weirdness on social media).
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad." "How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Have not seen it yet. Planning on doing so this week.
Annie B. Besides the animals (I loathe monkeys) what did you think of the movie?
