Yay! You posted it!

This is a great story, Tank, and I just love how you managed to find *another* way to get Lois a hair cut.

Thanks - I thought it was brilliant.

Corrina.

I loved it, Tank! A Tank haircut story is always fun. But here you used it to make Clark show Lois how much he loved and respected her. It was great! clap

<chuckle>

Cute. Of course, if you *really* wanted to surprise your audience, you would have had Lois win the bet and, for a change, escape from one of your stories with her hair intact. But it was a fun story with a nice bit of WAFF thrown in for good measure. :-)

I think that's the best haircut story you've ever written, Tank. A haircut and a reveal!
cool

I should have known, but I still went in without a clue what was going to happen. To Lois. blush

Quote
Lois cocked her head and looked him straight in the eye. "Unless you've changed them; the winner shaves the loser's head, and the loser has to wear the winner's colors for a week."
Ah, yes. Tank-fic.

Quote
Lois punched Clark in the arm. "Come on, Kent, have a little faith in our team."
Yes, but you've just bet a haircut in a Tank-fic. Now the Hawks would stand a better chance at winning if Superman broke every single one of their players' legs. huh

Quote
"No, Lois, you don't understand." He looked around then moved close and whispered so that only she could hear him. "I'm Superman."
eek No way. He is? eek /wonders if this was a thinly veiled hint to Corrina to speed up the revelation. Either plot-wise or posting-wise laugh And for the record, option two is the far superior choice laugh

I loved it. Right up until the reveal. I hate public revelations, but not enough to dislike your story.

A great tribute to a great fic.

Hi Tank,
I re-stumbled over this while gem while finding hair to sacrifice on the altar of Mary’s May Scavenger Hunt

And I want to point out the nice archived version!

Fanfic for fanfic, a nice tradition! I wonder if there’s enough to make for a Scavenger Hunt…

Quote
Lois glanced around as she took in all of her colleagues. Most of them turned back to their computer screens, purposely ignoring Gazza. Some resorted to hurling insults and jeers toward him, but none of them stepped up either. Every year he made the bet. Over the next few weeks, his team would play every one of the teams that his fellow scribes barracked for. He took on any comer. The first one to step up got to take on the bet. Of course, he had a pretty good record since Collingwood had been a strong contender for the last several years. His long wavy hair was testament to his team’s successes.
The amount of research that went into this by a non-Aussie!

Quote
Still, what kind of fan was she if she didn’t have faith in her guys?
One who’s hair didn’t get entangled in a ceiling fan?

Quote
Lois cocked her head and looked him straight in the eye. “Unless you’ve changed them; the winner shaves the loser’s head, and the loser has to wear the winner’s colors for a week.”
Which satisfies the first part of the Hunt’s rules.

Quote
“Did I hear that right? Did you just bet your hair on a footy match?”

Lois didn’t even look up from her screen. “Yep.”

“Why?”
laugh Also, to satisfy the FDK part of the FDK Scavenger Hunt.

Quote
They lost! Lois couldn’t believe it. She stared at her reflection in her bathroom mirror as she made herself ready for bed. Her hand strayed up to the shiny, dark locks that hung down to just brush her shoulders. Soon her shoulders would no longer feel the brush of those silken strands.
Oops?

Quote
She wasn’t completely bald, not that that was any real comfort. Her head would look like a man’s beard after a couple of days without shaving. A short, fine fuzz, less than a quarter of an inch long, covered her scalp now.

She couldn’t help herself. She reached up and rubbed her hand over her buzzed head. Of course, everyone else had to come and do so, also.
And the conclusion of Lois getting a new hairstyle.

Quote
Clark sat in her guest chair. “It’s just that not too many beautiful women would put themselves at risk like that, let alone follow through with it. Mayson certainly wouldn’t.”

Lois’ eyes widened. “You thought I was beautiful.”

Clark chuckled. “No, I think you are beautiful.” He shook his head. “Lois, something as transitory as a bad haircut isn’t going to change my opinion of you.”
Awwww

Quote
“You know, you claim to barrack for Hawthorn too. If you were a real fan you’d let Gazza buzz your hair too. We could be pathetic, buzzed Hawk fans together.”

A look of panic quickly crossed Clark’s face.

“Ah, I’m sorry Lois, but I can’t do that.”
evil He’d win the bet against the shears.

Quote
“No, Lois, you don’t understand.” He looked around then moved close and whispered so that only she could hear him. “I’m Superman.”
shock

This was a nice little re-read!

Hadn't read this one yet. Very cute. And very appropriate timing, since the Collingwood vs Hawthorn game is this week.

Thanks for bringing it back to the surface!
