Back in the Silver Age of comics, there was a story that told of how Superboy and Lex started off as friends. In it, Lex tries to develop a cure for Kryptonite poisoning, but he has an accident in the lab which starts a fire. Superboy comes to his aid and blows out the fire with his super-breath, but in the process, some chemicals spill on to Lex. The chemicals, coupled with the heat of the fire, cause him to go bald. This starts off a chain of events which result in Lex developing a bitter enmity toward Superboy. (The subsequent events are not germaine to my challenge; suffice to say that they involved Lex being repeatedly publicly humiliated by the folks in Smallville.)
I got to thinking: Lex's lab accident isn't all that much different than Barry Allen's. The latter had chemicals spill on him during a thunderstorm, and while dowsed with the chemicals, he was struck by lightning. The combination of chemicals + lightning gave him his super speed and permitted him to become The Flash.
So my challenge to you is, write a story in which Lex gains (or has already gained) super speed, rather than baldness, as the result of his lab accident. How will that change impact his relationship with Superboy? Will "Lightning Lex" become a superhero or a supervillain?
