It was his most diabolical plan yet. Lord Nar-Su stared down at the baby in the container before him. It was hard to believe that Zara had defeated his cousin so easily with the help of that traitor and the people of earth, but he was going to have his revenge.

This creature, a clone like the thousand others already on their way in the starry void between earth and the stars would be his revenge on the people of earth. Each was designed to be perfect, better than anyone in their surroundings. They each had special abilities, custom designed for the area in which they’d be landing.
Sending them into the past was a stroke of genius. It was only unfortunate that he hadn’t found a way to back further than forty earth years.

Most devastatingly were their psionic abilities to distort the minds of those around them. The people around them would stop acting like themselves and would instead become out of character simpletons. The men would all want her and be focused on her and the women would want to be her.

They’d sap the will of the people, prove to them that no matter how good they were at their profession, no matter how talented, they would always be second best.

Naturally, as clones they wouldn’t have a fully developed background. Their personalities would be immature and grating. But this was just another pleasant side effect, a last twist of the screw.

Nar scowled at the smaller collection of canisters off to the side. His male version hadn’t worked out nearly as well as he’d hoped. They weren’t as viable somehow. Yet the ones he had managed to unleash would be the front-lines in his war.

Each of his creatures, each Mari of the house of Su would be just another piece of hell for the people of earth.

His cousin would be avenged.
