Y'know, it's long been my opinion that while lots of people are happy to join in an existing comments thread, a lot fewer people, for whatever reason, feel comfortable with starting one...

Anyway, the plot's beginning to thicken, guys -- where do you think it might go from here? smile

"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed.
He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement."
"You can say that again," she told him.
"I have a...."
"Oh, shut up."

Yes, it's the end of the world!

Wait a minute.

Sadly enough, I said both of those things out loud. I should videotape my feedback sometime. I bet it's a scream.

Really, I should re-read its predecessor before I start this story to refresh myself. Maybe I'll do that the next time I have a day off work. :p

Great part. hyper

Don't like Luthor, unfinished, untitled and crossover story, and people that promises and don't deliver. I'm getting choosy with age.

Love Brenda and Francine lol And also the easy, banter between Kal and Lois.

Which reminds me, I do like how so much of what is happening is developed through dialogue.

Ack! *covers eyes* Not Nightfall. Now I'm really afraid. And I also like Brenda and Francine laugh

Hmmm. Just when we're all settling in for a nice, WAFFy account of Lois and Kal's happy ever after, you have to hit us with a double punch, don't you?

First, enter Trask stage left - it has to be him, or this universe's counterpart. Tracking down people who've had alien encounters. Kidnapping the photographer who caught Kal on film neutralising the tsunami. Now, of course, he'll be after Kal... Argh!!! cat

And as if that's not bad enough, you give us... Nightfall! thud

Okay, you better be posting quickly!

Ah, Kal, so confident about saving the day.

Still liking this story, so write, write, write.

Rachel, I was doing no such thing... it's a general observation on typical fan behavior. I've seen story parts sit there for hours, then someone starts a comments thread, and within 45 minutes they've got five comments. Y'know? Hitting "add reply" doesn't seem as difficult a task as "new topic." Not at all logical, but there we are. smile

Carol -- yeah, within the last few years I've become a big believer in dialog. If introspection can be converted (which of course sometimes it can't) then I'll seriously look at rewriting it as mostly dialog.

Maria, if you want to know what happened on NK, go back and re-read Hearts Divided <g>

Yep. smile

Beware of red herrings. There are a few.

What do you guys think of post length, btw? I'm planning to post sections that are more or less this size, every other day -- I could make them longer but then I'd post less frequently.

It's a good length.

Please, please, PLEASE let Clark,er..um, Kal tackle the asteroid more intelligently!!! He's part of a space-faring society and knows a whole lot more about vector strengths and varing the path by a few degrees and the like.

It possible that this is not Trask, but if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck and sheds duck-like feathers, it probably is a nutcase xenophobic duck named Trask!
