I would like to use a picture of Ingeborg the Maid (from Honeymoon in Metropolis) for my avatar. I have a picture on my computer, but I do not have a webpage or place to upload it so that I can link to the url. Any ideas?

Hi Ingeborg!
Welcome to the boards!

You could sign up with DropBox, Google Drive, or Microsoft SkyDrive for free, upload the image and then share it. That way, you have a publicly available URL you can use for your avatar smile

There's also a ton of dedicated image sharing websites: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_photo-sharing_websites

Thanks for the advice and thanks for the warm welcome. I signed up for Google Drive and tried it, but all I get is a little 'x' frown I will keep trying.

Welcome. wave

Have you tried TinyPic ? You don't need to sign up or have an account to use it.

Go here to Zoomway's site: http://www.folcsite.com/avatars/avatar1.htm and follow the directions. If you have trouble resizing it, send it to me and I'll fix it and send it back to you. You can do that by PM (private mail) if you want.
By doing this the picture will always come up in the avatar slot.
regards and welcome

Actually, everywhere I go I'm asked to affirm that I own the rights to the photo being uploaded, which, obviously, I don't. I think I'll just remain avatar-less for the time being. Maybe someday the HIM maid can be added to the assortment of ready-to-use lcficmbs avatars (hint, hint)

Hi Ingeborg:
Sorry I'm late seeing your reply. I did notice you weren't using one. You won't have that problem with Zoomway's site because she already owns the rights to all the Lois and Clark pics. If you want, you can send it to me and I'll resize it an post it.
