Labby, James Herriot is one of my very favorite authors. I love his books and his not understanding some client's accents does sound familiar. I remember once he was allowing another vet, possibly Granville Bennett, no it was someone else...Stevie? I haven't read his books in way too long to go on vacation and when some man called he (JH) could not make out where the man said he lived.
Too bad the dental nurse has no accent!
