Oh, he is! But since he made his debut in 1938, and he was in his late twenties then... Well, I leave you to do the maths. Suffice to say... arthritis... cataracts... paunch... wrinkles... comb over... And his sense of direction isn't what it used to be, either.


I wish I hadn't had to wait five (or was it six) years to win a Kerth.

I wish that my yard was nicely landscaped.

Granted only your landscape designer thought that when you said you wanted it landscaped it meant that you wanted your yard to resemble the scene of a mud wrestling match and so now nothing will grow.

Granted! Artificial Intelligence has come a long way! Your car can clean, drive and refuel itself. Unfortunately, it realised that it no longer needs you and it left to find it's own place in the world. I guess you'll have to catch the bus.

Granted. Only problem is the short, fat, arrogant, boring, but immensely rich man you had to marry to get it. Oh, and did I mention that he got you to sign a prenuptial agreement and is immensely fit so isn't likely to pop his clogs before his 95th birthday... at the earliest. Oh, and he has the worst set of hair plugs you've ever seen and he has body odour.

Granted. You didn't say you actually wanted it to work, did you? If so, you shouldn't have bought it out of the back of a van. Still, wide-screen televisions make great decorations.

I wish the VCR had worked properly and recorded the SciFi Friday season openers (the shows I've been waiting all these weeks for) instead of 3 hours of static.

Granted! Unfortunately there was a problem with the timeslots and the SciFi Friday shows were moved two days forward to become the SciFi Wednesday lineup. You missed your shows by two days, but hey, got a nice three hours of Buffy reruns.

I wish I didn't have to make a two hour drive this morning. :p

Granted. Thanks to a major pileup, you were stuck in a jam for four hours and it became a six hour drive instead.

I wish it wasn't raining (sorry, but I've had a pretty good day, so it's hard to think of anything to make me more content )

Granted. The rain turned to hail so huge as to make a record; it's putting dents in everything you own.

I wish people would stop trying to get me to drink Coke Zero as if this time I might suddenly like it. (Ha, see what you can do with that one ).

Granted only you find yourself inundated with normal coke (or diet which ever you drink) and you give up drinking it altogether.

I wish that I could go to Germany to watch the World Cup

Granted! When you open your eyes tomorrow morning you'll find it's now May 2020. You slipped into a coma overnight and missed the last 14 years.

Granted. But it gets highly offended at being dressed up like an idiot, bites you, you catch rabies and spend the next eight months in hospital getting painful shots.
