I wasn't sure if there is an Expansys store for each country separately (each with its own conditions), or if they only had the conditions in different languages.

For some reason, they say something different on their customer service page (they talk about a 7 days delay even for faulty devices 
). But what you found sounds rather promising, and I sent an email to them last night describing the problem and asking for either a refund or an exchange with a machine of a different make. So we'll see. Crossing fingers it will work out, because at this point I'm tearing my hair out.
