This was not beta'd. I typed it out last night and haven't even spell checked it. And I haven't seen ATAI in about 10 years, so it's probably got some spoofers in it. But you're welcome to comment if you'd like!

Tempus's writings end up being toilet paper...WOW!! that is rich!!!!

You very well could have given him a heart attack if he hadn't died of pneumonia.

Story Rocks!

Quite good.

I never read many of the plot-untwists, but I'll have to go looking for them.

rotflol betsy! good one! i was wondering where that was going. wouldn't have expected that. the cholera, the rare paper... all fits so nicely together. great job.

and of course i know you from adam. adam's the guy who wrote "lois and the beast." wink seriously, tho, i've read and enjoyed several of your stories (actually, i nominated one of them for a kerth last year, come to think) and i remember you've sent me some nice FDK in the past. i'm honored to have this dedicated to me, and glad you enjoyed my untwists. smile

anyway, great story. smile got anything more up your sleeve?

Paul

When in doubt, think about penguins. It probably won't help, but at least it'll be fun.

A very fitting tribute to Paul. Well done, Betsky.

As far as Tempus's book is concerned, I loved the irony.

Very interesting.

Thank you all for the kind comments.

And yes, I have other things up my sleeve, but finding time to pull them out is a story for another day...
