RE: why the rush on the wedding?
Mayson had already been kidnapped once and Dan didn't want her alone and unprotected any more. Therefore the rush to get married. They can have a more elaborate wedding later.
RE: the media leaving Clark alone.
At least some of that can be attributed to Mayson's rant when she went to his apartment to be there to comfort him after that difficult rescue.
Yeah, Smythe is a piece of work all right.
Jack and Danny will be with them only until Jack can afford other living arrangements.
