This makes a lot more sense. The way it happened in canon never added up. Although I have to wonder how early she knew.
“I’m over him too, Clark. Please, I’m fine.”
I think she protests too much.
“You said that your life had no value, and that no one would miss you,” he reminded her.
It is good to see that Clark really cares aboutr Cat.
“I know,” he said, running his thumb down her cheek. “Then, suddenly, you decided that you didn’t like the old you and wanted to be someone else, someone you thought a person could love. You didn’t feel like someone could love you for you, but only your body. So, since it was your body you felt you might as well offer it to the highest bidder.”
I think this is the best explanation of the Arthur Chow episode yet.
