She chastised herself for doubting him. Honestly, what was she expecting, a scene from Ivory Tower? She tallied another point in Clark’s favor as evidence of his deserving the benefit of her doubts. In the tomb, with stone crumbling around them, he’d told her she knew him better than anyone else. And she was starting to feel like she really did.

Lois does know him better than anyone else. He deserves her love and attention as much as she deserves his. Lex only saw her as a prize in the contest between himself and Superman. He never truly appreciated her as a person.
