He stared at himself in the mirror and grimaced as he noticed a very slight bluish-blackish tinge to the skin on his chest just below his right shoulder. He touched the spot experimentally and flinched as the light pressure caused a deep pain to shoot through his shoulder. It hurt. A lot. And he found himself holding back a curse as the pain continued to radiate down into his chest and up into his neck. He remembered when it had started—just a couple of hours ago, when he’d caught a massive slab of concrete falling from an overpass on Interstate 5, preventing it from crushing a tour bus full of passengers. But he hadn’t realized the pain was anything more than just another achy muscle, maybe a strain. This was much worse. There was a visible bruise.

A bruise?

That ain't good.

Yeah buddy, five years of marriage to a investigative reporter means you tell her five minutes after the news... whether good or bad. If Lois finds out any other way, the fallout will be very bad.

When is the next part? I'm hooked!

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.
