Many apologies for not being able to attend the ceremony. Michael made sure I knew it was on - thanks, Michael - but the timing didn't work at all.
As most of you know, I'm farming now, and my area is 16 months into a drought. That means more feeding out hay, more watering of crops and trees, more reducing of animal numbers, more finding and acquiring alternative feed sources for animals, more fence maintenance as the ground dries around posts., more checking in on other farmers to see if they're OK... all of which takes a lot of time.
So thanks so much for being a bright spot in what has been, and continues to be, a pretty difficult time.
