Yep. There was a double sided purpose for choosing all these "great leaders" according to Lex. Lex clearly never heard that if you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it.

*Tires screeching* Aw, man! That would have been good too! Assuming Lex would in fact leave her everything, which of course he wouldn't have... eh, would have required too many changes. And no, I don't imagine Lex planned for his demise ever, save for a contingency plan for resurrection should it happen.
Although I *was* referring to his wedding night and strenuous activity detrimental to his heart condition.
