I hope we can avoid clique-ishness here... or at least make it clear that new members are enthusiastically welcomed
But yeah, making private jokes in public -- in front of a lot of people who won't get it -- is tacky. Unless you can disguise it well enough that it doesn't look like a private joke... but even that's tricky
