Seasickness? Or morning sickness? There are a lot of different things it could be, I know, but I just have this feeling that Lois had some really good news to tell Clark before Tempus had to go and interfere!  I know Clark isn't a fighter, but I think he might do a bit better than they're afraid he will. Or at least, I'm sincerely hoping he will. Glad Lois has help because this world is very different from her own and very scary, particularly with Clark in danger. Great chapter!

Great chapter! Could go either way, can't it Anti-K?  Actually, just last night I was rewatching "Gabrielle's Hope" in which Gabrielle gives birth to the evil spawn of an evil god. And the pressure points didn't work to allievate her morning sickness. Nope, that's not a hint, just an interesting observation about a scene I had totally forgotten about. But be patient. You'll find out eventually if you are right or not. :p Clark may surprise you in the coming chapters. And that's all I'll say on that. Lois is definitely lucky to have Xena and Gabrielle in this world. Especially considering that the world is so different from her own and that Xena knows Caesar so very well. Thanks for continuing to read!

Lois threw up violently over the side of the ship that was bearing her inexorably towards Rome. So pregnant. Unless... I figured she already knew due to the special dinner. So she shouldn't be surprised like that. Unless the special dinner was unrelated

Except she mentioned the horse. /runs around in circles, screaming/ *laughing so hard that she is crying* Don't worry, Lois. When Ares (it was Ares, wasn't it?) was powerless, he survived, too. It was Ares. At least 3 times. His sword got stolen and he was mortal, Gabrielle's enchanted scroll took away his powers, and then he lost his powers during the Twilight of the Gods when he saved Gabrielle and Eve from dying so that Xena could kill Athena. I did wonder. About both options. And didn't really believe them. But poker? I was inspired by "King Con" when Xena and the two con artists take down the evil casino owner who nearly killed Joxer. Xena and the evil dude play a single hand of winner-take-all poker at the end of the episode. /imagines Lois purchasing her very own Gladiator. An obstinate thing. The least prized possession of Theo-somehting-or-other. Of course, the gladiator does not recognize the woman who buys him. And gets really scared when she later visits his bedchamber, still veiled.  The one-size-fits-all Tempus line!
