Thanks Mouse!

Yes, it is weekly.
When I saw this episode when I got my DVD sets, I got the impression that Lois was telling herself not to fall for him as much as she was telling Clark not to fall for her. It would be consistent with her character that she knew she lacked trust and love in her life, but had convinced herself that she didn't need it and wasn't going to spend the necessary time learning to trust and love any man. It makes Clark's long campaign to burrow through her walls more poignant and ultimately worthwhile to both of them. Makes for good romantic drama, too.

Any thoughts?

I completely agree, Terry. It always felt like some of the walls Lois put up and warnings she issued were more for herself than for others. Mid-Season one you could see her wavering and allowing herself to feel vulnerable around Clark and then quickly bolt in the other direction. Unfortunately, headed straight for the evil Lex Luthor, but the battle of emotions and the fight Lois has to keep herself from being vulnerable makes the story all the more satisfying when she does finally let Clark Kent in and these two discover one another's true selves. hyper
