Here I thought that the foil hat Lois wore to keep Star from reading her thoughts was just a bit of silliness dreamt up by the L&C authors. I still think it is a bit of silliness, but apparently it has been made into a book. Check it out at Amazon\'s site.

If I remember correctly, Lucy wore a foil hat in one episode of "I Love Lucy."

It was an early TV joke in the 1950's. The reasons were:
1. The Roswell incident was still on many people's minds.
2. TV itself was deemed dangerous and mind controlling by many people who feared the new electronic medium. In some ways they were proved right, but not just by waves being beamed to your home.
