I do not have a clue! I can pretty much fill in the blanks, and it still means nothing to me. Orchards??
The bells aren't ringing today.
U, please.
So let me put you out of your misery
It's actually that really sweet scene from the pilot with the old lady reciting in the theatre for the last time and Clark watching her to later write the mood piece for which Lois wasn't in the mood - which got him the job, which made him her partner, which set the whole thing in motion ... I really liked that scene, it's quite moving:
oh, for the days of my childhood! Back when my soul was pure! I slept right here in this nursery, looking out at the orchard from this very room, and every morning I awoke with such joy in my heart! My orchard is just the same as it was then. Nothing different. All of it, all of it dressed in white! My lovely orchard! And here's a new one:
"----- ------ -- -----! ----'-- ------ --- -- --- --------."
"---'- -----?"
"----, ---. - ---'- ---- ---- ---- -- ------- ---'-- ------- …"

Crazy_Babe, you really have almost everything, but here's the update with Coolgirl's "P":

From Lucky Leon:
CLARK (to Lois) : ( 'No! No! No! He was the _King_.) So the cape with the white jumpsuit was kind of a _royal_ outfit.
LOIS: Get out.
CLARK: I'm serious.
LOIS: You can read his lips from here? And I thought I was good.
So I've never played before [hey, I'm bored and avoiding schoolwork so I popped in here and stared at it while trying to 'see' CK 'reading lips' and the only two times I could come up with were the one with Dragonetti and this one] so now what?
Carol
Now, since you posted the answer, you get to make up your own hangman. Just go to the scripts page (there's a link at the top of the main page of the boards), choose an episode, then choose a quote.
/me wonders idly if "I'm Superman" would be a good one to go with...
YAY! But since this is literally like the 5th time I've opened a Hangman folder... are there rules of thumb [at least x number of lines or dialog or x number of letters etc] to be aware of? Any master list of quotes used [over the last NINETY TWO threads]?
/me continues pondering...
Carol [who is still avoiding schoolwork]
Edit: So I found one that I like - but it seems awfully long... /me goes to search to see if it's been done...
No need to worry about length--make it as long or as short as you like. Depending on the quote, the long- or short-ness of it could be a challenge.
As for whether or not quotes have already been used . . . we've probably used a whole ton of quotes more than twice. It's kind of pointless to check if they've been used over all 92 threads, so I guess if it hasn't been used in the current thread (or even the current thread and the one before it), then I'd say go ahead and use it.
Sounds good!
I'll post here in a little while!
WOOHOO! I won something besides a 'best running commentary award'!!!

All righty then... Here we go!
---/ ----/ ---/ ---/ -------/ --'--/ -----/ ------/ ----/ ----------/ ----'-/ -----/ --/ ----/ ----?

-------/ --/ ------/ --------/ ------/ --------/ ----/ ---/ -----, ---------/ ----/ ----'--/ -----, ----/ --/ --... -

Got it!
PERRY: You ever get the feeling we'll never really know everything that's going on with them?
JIMMY: Hey, Chief?
PERRY: Yeah?
JIMMY: Instead of always standing around watching Lois and Clark, wondering what they're doing, what if we... I don't know... got lives of our own that were a little more interesting?
PERRY: Son, you're shootin' a bullseye. It's like we're supporting characters in some TV show that's_only_ about them...
JIMMY: ... and all we do is advance their plots...
PERRY: ... and I, for one, am sick of it.
JIMMY: Man, me too.

LOIS: No one knows me better than me. And believe me, I am fine.
CLARK: Is that why your desk drawer is full of candy bars?
LOIS: Oh, so now Sigmund Kent is saying a sweet tooth means a person's mentally unstable. And what are you doing in my drawers anyway?
Didn't ring any bells, but I knew where to look.
Madame Ex obviously isn't one of my faves.
Great Job Gr8Shades! The reason I chose that quote was cause of Lois's question: "What are you doing in my drawers anyways?" I got a totally nficy vision on that one and just had to use it!

Ok, clue time: Look in an earlyish season 1 ep. Script only - I've just checked the dvd and he doesn't actually say it, so sorry Carol, you're imagining things!
Lex: It's always so embarrassing to have to do away with someone. It's an announcement to the world that you have neither the savvy nor the finesse to deal with a problem more
creatively.
I thought he was talking to Nigel while trimming his bonzai tree but not according to the script. Maybe that was the Luthor wedding arc...
Anyway, it's Requiem for a Superhero.
Back in a bit...
Carol
Edit: Well, then he says it somewhere else because I KNOW he did at some point. Or something very similar. Anyone else know?
The Bonsai's from All Shook Up. And I only know that cos I used it in the caption game!
I thought you might have been talking about the scene at the end of the ep where Lex gives his dog a glass of champagne.
Well done for finding this.
I thought you might have been talking about the scene at the end of the ep where Lex gives his dog a glass of champagne.
Lex gave his dog champaigne? When was that? Or was that a cut scene?
How about a preemptive

If someone told me yesterday that Lex gave his dog champagne (or that he even
had a dog!) I'd have said they were talking rubbish!
But there it is, at the end of Requiem for a s/h! And I thought I knew this series inside out! Although I must admit this is not an episode I particularly like.

Think season 4... Tim and Amber Lake, collectors of rare things - such as superman
- were played by Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker of Star Trek: Next Gen) and Genie Francis (North And South and General Hospital).
I can't believe I still remember her name, I never watched General Hospital, but one of my primary school friends' grandmother loved that soap.
Btw, I just looked up her character's name in General Hospital and it was "Laura Vining Webber Baldwin Spencer" - catchy, huh?
As for your clue: I have yet to finish watching season four. First time around, I stopped watching LnC after the new Kryptonians entered the picture. And ever since I got the dvd box set, I only got to Faster Than A Speeding Vixen. But I'll catch up soon, I promise
For now, all I want is an
S as in Superman
Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker of Star Trek: Next Gen)
Ah, yes. Friday nights, 7pm, TV1, early 90's.
Hey, I was a child! My parents wouldn't take me anywhere.

Okay. Since my ego has been fed, I'll give you a hint.
Late Season 4
Sound familiar?
Thanks. I was looking there but gave up and moved on to early season 3!
Found some really good quotes along the way... one about broccoli...
Finally! (ok, I did have to do a little work in between posts, but still.)
CLARK: I, uh....
LOIS: Sure, yeah, go!
JIMMY: How do you guys do that? I mean, how'd you even know he had to go somewhere?
LOIS: Oh, that? Uh, well, it's... Sorry, can't tell you, it's a secret.

In my family, watching Star Trek was a kind of bonding ritual. The original series was actually the first "adult" programme my sister and I were allowed to watch - and Next Gen is still my favourite (I *loved* Data).
I don't have the DVDs, didn't learn to speak Klingon or go to conventions, but I still think it's a great show

Coming back to an earlier game with a quote from "Requiem for a Superhero":
Lex: It's always so embarrassing to have to do away with someone. It's an announcement to the world that you have neither the savvy nor the finesse to deal with a problem more
creatively. Originally posted by carolm:
I know who said it and to who and I think I can even picture what the sayer is doing while saying it but I cannot however figure out what ep it was [and I just watched this season last week].
Carol
Originally posted by gr8shadesofElvis:
Ok, clue time: Look in an earlyish season 1 ep. Script only - I've just checked the dvd and he doesn't actually say it, so sorry Carol, you're imagining things! Originally posted by carolm:
I thought he was talking to Nigel while trimming his bonzai tree but not according to the script. Maybe that was the Luthor wedding arc...
Anyway, it's Requiem for a Superhero.
Back in a bit...
Carol
Edit: Well, then he says it somewhere else because I KNOW he did at some point. Or something very similar. Anyone else know?
I am re-watching this ep as I type and Carol was (mostly) right - Lex *did* say it on screen, I even transcribed his exact words (OK, I'm slightly bored):
It's always such an embarrassment having to do away with someone. It's like announcing to the world that you lack the savvy and the finesse to deal with the problem more creatively. I also thought he was talking to Nigel, but in fact he is talking to his own self in the mirror.
If you want to re-check your ep, it's around 17:30 minutes into the show.
