Hi all!
The other thread was getting very long, so I've closed it. Please continue here.
Breanna just came up with the last quote:
"Boy, this is one slow elevator, huh?"

Arrrrghhh...that is so...oh, I know! Just came to me as I was about to type that it was so frustratingly close!
Clark to Lana in Tempus Anyone? He's trying to avoid answering her as she interrogates him about using his powers.
lol Good job Labby!
Your turn!
-Breanna
Hey, I'm on a roll!
I'll be back in the morning with a new photo.
[Edit: Erm...quote, I mean quote....]
LabRat
LOL Labby...it MUST be late for you.
You posted that you'll post a photo in the quote section and a quote in the photo section...
get some sleep
-Breanna (who passes Labby some Nyquil & cheese)
Ooooooooh, Ta. <g>
LabRat (taking her Clarkie bear to bed now...)
Wake up Labrat!
Clarkie, could you tell her to post a new quote? thanks
Carole
I'm here - I just went back to bed after breakfast because I had a late night. <G>
Hmmmmmmmmm, let's see.....
Maybe some morning you and I could split a prune danish.
Episode? Who said it to who and what was the reply?
LabRat
I have absolutely no idea what the answer is...
thought I might just underline my so wide knowledge of the show...LOL
Ooh, I actually know this one, I think. Let me check my tape, just to be sure...
Ok, it was the "resident Lothario" at the Metropolis Neuroscience Center -- one Homer Blackstock -- to Lois, in "Forget Me Not." Her coy answer: "If you play your cards right."
You're up, Rivka.
LabRat
Cool!
Who said, "Not even a tinkle"? To whom, regarding what, and in what ep?
Wow! I guess I stumped everyone. Ok, the quote continues, "You know, I've decided to spend the evening in. I thought maybe you'd like to join me?"
Does that make it any easier?
ok, the quote ends "...we could listen to a little music...?"
Well, you've stumped me, certainly, Rivka. This isn't ringing any bells at all.
LabRat (who knows she's going to kick herself when she gets the answer)
Wow, I am totally stumped too! I had a vague guess, very reaching, but when you continued it, even that went out the window.
This is a hard one!
I hope you got it from the tape ... it would be pretty funny if it turned out to be a line that was cut from a script. <g>
Kathy
Wow, I was sure that by the time I came online tonight
someone would have solved it!
Yeah, I got it off a tape, not a script. And I guess you folks hate the Wedding Argh so much you avoid watching INPY altogether.
I, OTOH, have always been amused by this particular scene.
This isn't ringing any bells at all.
Funny you should choose that expression!
It's Dr. Mamba, speaking to Lois. She has just asked whether the fact that the man driving his rental car looked like he worked for the secret service
rang a bell.
Her reply to him, btw, was, "No, no... <scramble>...thank you, though."
Oh, I guess I need to come up with a different quote? Um... let me see... ok, got one.
"Get the smug out of your voice." Said by? To? And in what episode?
<g> Indeed. I try to avoid the Wedding Arghh like the plague.
"Get the smug out of your voice."
I believe Lucille says it to Nell in UltraWoman...?
Yup! Your turn!
Whew. I'm back and raring to go...gee makes it sound like I have a life, but not really. Just means my computer is dead LOL. Here goes:
"What were you going to do, give me a makeover?"
Who said it to whom, what ep?
Jen
Ok, Jen, now you stumped the poll! Come give a hint?
Irritating <G> because I almost recognise it.
Time for a clue?
LabRat
er...Lois to Clark in, can't remember the ep name, but the one at the end of which Lois comes to Clark appartment's to tell him she loves him and discovered him surrounded with cardboards, ready to leave.
Here's the full quote plus the response. Let's see what you guys make of it.
Lipstick. Very creative. What were you going to do, give me a makeover?
I know. Cliched, but effective.
oh!!!!!
*jumps up and down excitedly*
Chip off the old Clark!
Lois was holding Anonymous hostage with lipstick pressed to his back!
[EDIT]
Going to post the next one now...
ok...going to try something different here...
Fill in the Blanks
----: "Hey, ----, word to the wise. ----, there'll always be another ---- ----, but ---- ---- comes around maybe once."
The ---- does not symbolise how many letters are in the word, just that there is a word there. The first one is for the name of the person who is speaking it.
-Breanna (who wonders if a new thread should go for fill in the blanks).
----: "Hey, ----, word to the wise. ----, there'll always be another ---- ----, but ---- ---- comes around maybe once."
Good Lord. Hey, Lois, word to the wise. Honey, there'll always be another headless corpse, but true love comes around maybe once.
From "Ordinary People" right after Lois tells Perry that Clark asked her to marry him. Then Lois gets a phone call about four headless bodies found.
[EDIT] Oops. Forgot to say that Perry said this.
Oooh, interesting twist, Breanna!
Nice!
I'm pretty sure I got the answer right, but since I have to catch a plane in just a few hours, I wouldn't mind if somebody else posted a quote in my place.
Yah, she got it right.
Who's next?
oh! I had another one that I almost did...so I'll do that one now :p
You have been ---- and ---- on a fairly ---- ---- ever since I have ---- you. And ----, now that we are ---- by ---- ---- and ---- ----, now, you think would be a ---- ----.
ok... fill in the blanks, and who spoke them to who in which episode.
-Breanna
This is Lois and Clark from Ordinary people. She sits on his lap and is trying to persuade him to fly them off the island....
At the moment I can only remember the first bit though
You have been
scooping and
carrying on a fairly
regular basis ever since I have
known you.....
HC (who is very annoyed at herself and hoping to remember it later)
Edit: Yeah I found a picture to jog my memory
. Ok here goes:
You've been scooping and flying on a fairly regular basis ever since I've known you, but now, now when we're surrounded by crazed insects and murderous plants... now you figure would be a bad time?!
I knew it was somthing about bugs
Let's see if I can get it right.
You have been
scooping and
flying on a fairly
regular basis ever since I have
known you. And
now, now that we are
surrounded by
crazed insects and
murderous plants, now, you think would be a
bad time.
It was a great scene, I just hope I got the words right.
Loved Clark's response too - Lois was indeed
a WRECK!Jill
Nooo you beat me to it just as i was editing my post
Right....i'll race you to the next one
HC
Sorry, HC!
You can do the next quote if you want - I'm studying for my Board Exam and don't really have time to figure out a new one right now. Probably shouldn't be playing this until Thursday anyway. Bad Jill! <g>
Jill
Great thanks! (have a free evening for once and have always come to this too late before  )
OK off to think of a quote, back soon...
HC
EDIT: Ok this is an easy one but i like it
"Okay, here's --- ----. We know that whatever they --- ------ ----- is not ---- ---- --- -------- -----. So, we stay here until -- --- ---- ----- --. We should have ------- -----"
I'm actually a he
, but it's sometimes hard to tell from screen names.

Roger (masquerading as "me")
Either everyone is busy with RL (like I should be
) or they are busy re-reading the archive (like I have been
).....or I removed a few too many words
Here is a repost with a few more words added:
"Okay, here's the ----. We know that whatever they say ------ ----- is not what ---- --- -------- -----. So, we stay here until we --- ---- ----- --. We should have ------- -----"
HC
er...I don't have that much...
"Okay, here's the plan. We know that whatever they say they're doing is not what they say they're doing. So, we stay here until we see them doing it. We should have guessed early"
...the part from "So we stay..." to the end is totally wild guess...
Carole
You are really close but a couple of things wrong.......
"We should have brought a packed lunch."
That's from memory, but it sounds right. <g> Or...something like that.
Okay, you got me curious, so I checked it out.
"We should have brought lunch."
LabRat
Yep, should'a brought lunch
Just for completeness, here's the correct whole thing....
"Okay, here's the plan. We know that whatever they say they're doing is not what they
are actually doing. So, we stay here until we see them doing it. We should have
brought lunch ."
You're up Labrat...
HC
Well, I think Carole did most of the hard work on that one
- so I'll defer to her. You're up, Carole!
LabRat
aww! thanks, but I think it's more a team work so...as I kept you waiting, I'll pick up one line, and Labrat, you could also pick another. Okay, so here we go:
"Clark, have - ---- ---------?"
"Your ------- -----?"
"My ---!! Is it ---- -------? You know, like ----- that --- ---- the ----- but ----- ---- ---?"
Cyad, could you fill in a few more of the blanks?
I think that this was getting too hard. I don't know about all you others but I'm having a hard time trying to fill in the blanks.
I have *most* of it figured out. <g>
It's from the episode
Wall of Sound, and is spoken after Lois is back from the club. I'm not sure if the word in bold is exact, but it's pretty close...
"Clark, have - ---- ---------?"
"Your ------- -----?"
"My ---!! Is it ---- -------? You know, like ----- that --- ---- the ----- but ----- ---- ---?"
Lois: Clark, have I lost something?
Clark: Your fashion sense?
Lois: My
edge! Is it gone forever? You know, like socks that go into the dryer but never come out?
~Amanda
I don't know about all you others but I'm having a hard time trying to fill in the blanks.
I must admit - just as a personal preference that no one else has to agree with <g> - that I don't enjoy the filling in the blanks type of question as much as I do the giving a line and asking us to give the next one or whatever.
LabRat
(who thinks that made sense, but isn't entirely sure...)
I would tend to agree, Labby. Wasn't sure whether to say anything, since others seemed to enjoy the fill-ins.
Perhaps two topics? One for fill-ins, and one for the other?
Perhaps two topics? One for fill-ins, and one for the other?
Or two questions could run concurrently in this thread - don't think that would be too confusing, since they're such different forms. And devotees of both forms could choose which question to answer.
LabRat
Hmm, but then I couldn't just ignore one topic.
lol, I think that we just need to have a new quote question now...
"What do you want Nor?"
?Nor's reply here?
TBC was emblazoned across the screen right after Nor's words as we had a close up on Clark
Sorry guys,
shouldn't have started a quote only to be off line a week...but LaneGal have it!
Carole
Since Bumpkin already posted a regular one, I guess I'll go ahead and post a "fill in the blank" one.
The ----- means ------- to you! --- you're interested in is ------! You're - -------- to legitimate --------- like ----- and myself and you are not going to get what you are
------- for here vulture --- ! I'm not going to give you some ----- ---- that you can twist and ----. Whatever my ------------ with -------- is, is nobody's damn -------- but my own. So get --- -- -- ----!
Name the speaker and what episode it's from. Good luck!
~Amanda
Okay, I think I have most of them, but there are three that have me stumped...
The *truth* means *nothing* to you! *All* you're interested in is ------! You're *a* *disgrace* to legitimate *reporters* like *Clark* and myself and you are not going to get what you are
*looking* for here vulture *boy* ! I'm not going to give you some ----- ---- that you can twist and *turn*. Whatever my *relationship* with *Superman* is, is nobody's damn *business* but my own. So get *out* *of* *my* *face*!
Said by Lois in "Sex, Lies and Videotape" to that reporter who pesters her on the way home from the Planet.
Anybody know the rest of them?
Sara
Hmm, I think it's "some sound-bite that . . ."
Yay! Great job! Only a couple more to go...
Woohoo! Yes, Rivka, I think it was, "some sound-bite that..." etc. etc.
Thanks a lot, this was realllllllllllllly annoying me
but has anyone any ideas on the other one? It's not, "all you're intrested in is rumors..." is it?
Sara
Could it be "sleaze"?
You're gonna make me get the tape out again, aren't you. I watched that ep to figure something else out recently too. It's really funny in fast-forward.
Yes, sleaze fits into that blank.
Ok, so I got three words, and Sara got 16, I think.
Your turn, Sara!
Woohoo! Thanks Rivka for your help
Okay...
"Let's get something --------. ------ eat -----, not -------, -----. Any ----- ----- ----!"
Said by who, to who, in which ep?
Sara
"Let's get something --------. ------ eat -----, not -------, -----. Any ----- ----- ----!"
I can fill in some parts, but I don't quite remember it all.
"Let's get something
straight.
Clones eat
frogs , not -------,
frogs. Any ----- ----- ----!"
I know that Lois says it but I don't remember which episode.
Just to complete the quote:
"Listen, let's get something straight.
Clones eat frogs. Not lizards. Frogs. Any idiot knows that!"
and it's from "Swear To God, This Time We're Not Kidding."
Skitz, it's pretty easy to edit a post if you want to - just click on the icon on your post that looks like a pad and pen and you can make whatever changes to it you like.
LabRat
Wow, that's pretty cool. Handy too. Thanks labrat, I had no idea one could do that!
You're great, thanks again!
Wow, I actually have to put one up now, I forgot that part. Just a minute while I find it.
Okay, got one. Hope no one's done this one already, here y'all go:
"It's always such an -------------. Having to -- ---- ---- -------. It's like announcing to the world that --- ---- the ----- and the ------- to deal with --- ------- more creatively. I mean, there have ---- -----, naturally, when I've had to ---- ------ ----------, but it's always -------- --. I've always felt like I've --- ------ ---- somehow."
er...except "having to do", I really don't have a clue...
Gosh, look at me! "je fais des vers sans en avoir l'air".
Carole
I can't fill in any blanks, but for some reason, I'm thinking this is a Lex speech. Early first season, he's talking to someone at the end (turns out to be a dog, I think)... about how he's disappointed that he had to take things in his own hands but such is life... RFAS?
Btw, have I mentioned that I really don't want to win these things?
If the above rings a bell for anyone, please go for it
PJ
Wow, did I pick a bad one? You're right about where it came from Pam. Would it help if I filed in a few more blanks? Here:
"It's always such an -------------. Having to do ---- with -------. It's like announcing to the world that you ---- the ----- and the ------- to deal with the ------- more creatively. I mean, there have been -----, naturally, when I've had to have ------ ----------, but it's always -------- me. I've always felt like I've let ------ down somehow."
Skitz, you didn't pick up a bad one, on the contrary.
As far as i'm concerned, I'm not an expert in Lex's lines, nor in playing hangman, but I'll try to fill in some more blanks...totally wild guess.
"It's always such an -------------. Having to do ---- with -------. It's like announcing to the world that you know the ----- and the ------- to deal with the problems more creatively. I mean, there have been -----, naturally, when I've had to have ------ ----------, but it's always -------- me. I've always felt like I've let myself down somehow."
lol, good Cyad. One guess was wrong, but the rest where nice! Wanna try for more? Here's the updated with your correct ones.
"It's always such an -------------. Having to do ---- with -------. It's like announcing to the world that you ---- the ----- and the ------- to deal with the problem more creatively. I mean, there have been -----, naturally, when I've had to have ------ ----------, but it's always -------- me. I've always felt like I've let myself down somehow."
geez, I can't find to missing words...even if the phrase looks familiar...I'll let the WE go over it, might be more inspired on monday
Carole
Wow, these are hard. (Can I buy a vowel?)
I haven't got a clue what this is, but I'll take a stab at it:
It's always such an
inconvenience...
Having to do
this with...
to the world that you
lack...
there have been
times it's always
bothered me...
Did I get any right? If I did, maybe it will help someone else remember these lines from the show. Frankly, I don't have clue what scene this is from, or what he is talking about!
- Vicki
The third and fourth ones were, Vicki. Here's the updated, again:
"It's always such an -------------. Having to do ---- with -------. It's like announcing to the world that you lack the ----- and the ------- to deal with the problem more creatively. I mean, there have been times, naturally, when I've had to have ------ ----------, but it's always -------- me. I've always felt like I've let myself down somehow."
"It's always such an
embarrassment. Having to do
away with
someone . It's like announcing to the world that you lack the
savvy and the
finesse to deal with the problem more creatively. I mean, there have been times, naturally, when I've had to have
people eliminated, but it's always
saddened me. I've always felt like I've let myself down somehow."
From "Requiem for a Superhero", said by the villain we love to hate...Lex Luthor. And he's referring to the killing on Allie.
Pelican
Yay pelican!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wondering when someone was going to get that! Lex quotes are always so interesting, almost as good as Martha or Tempus ones. You're up!
Okay, here's the next one. I haven't really paid any attention to these fill-ins and 'guess what line?' topics, so I'm sorry if this is a used one. If so, anyone is free to suggest a new one
Superman: Are you --- --- ?
Lois: You --- to --- me that a lot ---.
Superman: People seem to --- to --- you a ---.
Lois: Yeah, I was so --- in --- ---.
Pelican
Just my guess, but is it from "The Return Of The Prankster?"
"Are you all right?"
"You seem to ask me that a lot lately."
"People seem to try to kill you a lot."
"Yeah, I was so popular in high school..
Well, that was one lucky 'guess', then
You're up!
Pelican
lol, thanx! Here ya go:
Lois: The ---- is ---? -------- will ---? ------ ---? Does anyone else ---- ----- this?
Clark: Looooiss?
Lois: Clark -----, it’s just -- ------------.
Lois: The trap is set? Hundreds will die? Poisoned gas? Does anyone else know about this?
Clark: Looooiss?
Lois: relax, it’s just my exterminator.
I so love this scene!
lol, so do I. Good job Cyad, you're up!
oh? Okay...er, hope it won't be too difficult:
Lois: Uggh! A possible ------- from ------ ------ and all you can ----- about is -------- him off to your ---- to --- him out?
Cat: Test -----, Lois! A ------ hours behind the ----- and I'd ---- for sure -- we're ------ import...or --------!
Definitley not too hard! lol. It's from Neverending Battle.
Lois: Uggh! A possible visitor from another planet and all you can think about is hauling him off to your lair to try him out?
Cat: Test drive, Lois! A couple hours behind the wheel and I'd know for sure if we're talking import...or domestic!
You got it Skitz!
I know it wasn't that hard, but I can't seem to find hard questions or challenges...maybe next time
Anyway, you're on!
Carole
lol, don't wory Cyad, neither can I! Here's another easy one for everyone:
"And so we see that --------- ---- ------- tend toward ------ ------ power ----------, apparently having little ------ for --- ------ as - -----."
lol, don't wory Cyad, neither can I!
er...I know I need a vacation break but, I think you succeeded...I can't even find a single word, except for a 'the' and 'I' maybe...
Er, Skitz, maybe some hints?
Just popping in quickly here, but from the starting words I
think this might be part of one of Marlin PFinch-Lupus or whateverhisnamewas <g>'s nature speeches. From Whine, Whine, Whine.
Is that enough of a clue? <G>
LabRat
Marline Finch Lupus: And so we see that spineless dung beatles tend toward thinly veiled power structures, apparently having little regard for the colony as a whole.
From Whine Whine Whine!
/me applauds
Are you going to post a new one?
Yea i have one
This is probally an easy one i just one of the my many quotes that i love!
Fill in the blanks and name the ep!
Clark: I'm -----, I ----, I just --- -- --- of trouble ------- all of this.
Lois: What? That ----- is a ------? That he's -.-. ----? Or --- we're ---- a ------- ---------?
Clark: No, that this ----- -- ----- around in
-----.
Lois: Your ----- ---- them for ---.
I think it's from seas.3 "Tempus anyone?", but I'm not sure I recall all the quote...hem, let's give it a try:
"Clark: I'm sorry, I just, I just --- -- bit of trouble believing all of this.
Lois: What? That Tempus is a bandit? That he's H.G Wells? Or that we're from a parallel Metropolis?
Clark: No, that this other me flies around in
tights.
Lois: Your mother made them for you."
...How bad am I?
Carole
Pretty close not that far off only by a few words
Clark: I'm sorry, I just, I just have a lot of trouble believing all of this.
Lois: What? That Tempus is a criminal? That he's H.G. Wells? Or that we're from a parallel Metropolis?
Clark: No, that this other me flies around in tights.
Lois: Your mother made them for you.
This is right but i'll give it to it was close enought or ur up!
thanks Jess!
I was a bit confused by the number of - for certain words. Wait a minute, that means I have to find a quote...hem...oh! Here you go:
Cat: Maybe I ------ go with ---.
Lois: Or ----- you --------.
Clark: Wait a ------. Are --- planning to ------ your ---------- ...
Lois: ...to get the ----- of --- of the --------- and most --------- scientists of our ----? You ---.
Carole
Its from Witness, in the beginning Lois is getting ready to go interview the guy who gets killed. I don't think I cxan fill in all opf it, but let me take a shot at it.
Cat: Maybe I can go with you.
Lois: Or maybe you won't.
Clark: Wait a second. Are you planning to use your femininity ...
Lois: ...to get the story of --- of the --------- and most famous scientists of our time? You bet.
You almost have it, but as I won't come back until sept 12th, 15th to the max, let's say you're on
Cat : Maybe I should go with you.
Lois :Or maybe you shouldn't.
Clark : Wait a minute. Are you planning to exploit your femininity...
Lois : ...to get the story of one of the strangest and most reclusive scientists of our time? You bet.
Thank you!
At least I recognized it even if i didn't fill evrything in correctly.
Quote: What are you, a greeting card on steroids?
Episode and context?
I love the line! HAHA! It's from Whine, Whine, Whine! Calvin says it to Superman in response to supermans comment "You know people who love each other are suppose to be kind to each other! Calvin was saying that Elis is just a waitress and wouldn't understand
