Well, since I was suppose to think up the next quote before the boards went down, I'll start the new thread.
Ok, which episode is this from, and who said it?
"Welcome to Forever."
-Breanna
Oh my gosh! Don't have the answer but just realised how badly I've missed this quiz now that it's back!!!
LabRat
(yes, I know I said I was going to bed, but you guys keep distracting me with posts...)
It was Amber Lake in DTOSC!
Next quote: I’m not a woman!
Who said it and in what ep?
~Anna (who is SOOOO happy to have the mbs back!)
I'm going to guess the Lois clone in "Seconds." But I haven't seen that one in forever so is just a guess.
And Labby, you can't go to bed...you have posts to catch up on! You're back down to only 5 again!
-Breanna
Nope, it wasn't Clois. Any more guesses?
~Anna
OK, I'm pretty sure that this quote is Clark, speaking to Perry in "Never on Sunday".
So I'll post a quote, which you can obviously ignore if my answer to the previous one was wrong:
"Let's see some tights!"
Kathy
Oh well I'll post an answer to Kathy's which you can also ignore if she turned out to be wrong.
Uhhh pretty sure that's Lois speaking to Clark in Dead Lois Walking
And you can ignore this as well if my previous answer is wrong. What a confident bunch we are. :p
"Lois, tell him you're a girl."
And Labby, you can't go to bed...you have posts to catch up on! You're back down to only 5 again!
, Breanna. Well, I did, but not to worry. I have alllllllllllllllll day to work my way up again. /me says :p to Paul. <g>
LabRat
(excited enough this morning to make it to Kerth by tea-time - you may have unleased a monster <g>)
lol, labby. love the new sig. and hey, it just felt good to be ahead of you for a while. like it said in the channel topic, i was soaking it up while it lasted.
have fun posting.
Paul
"Lois, tell him you're a girl." That is Perry to Lois in Chi of Steel
How about
"Hollywood's created a dozen versions of Frankenstein, and you still didn't get the point."
(easy, but funny)
Paul, don't forget to have the post indicator for House of Cards be the arrow, not the default
-Breanna
thanks. i had forgotten, somehow.
luckily, jill fixed it for me. thanks, jill!
now, breanna, don't you forget to update the TOC post. <g>
Paul, who, in 12 hours, has gone from having twice labby's post count to labby having twice his! <sigh> knew it wouldn't last.
BTW, just to set everyone's minds at ease, Kathy's answer was right.
I think Breanna's quote is Lois to Dr. Hamilton in TOGOM. Am I right?
~Anna (who is trying her best to give Labby a run for her money, but isn't having much luck)
Yes indeedy you are!
Yay! Okay for the next quote you need the speaker, the listener, the episode,
and what 'it' refers to. Tough stuff, I know.
"I know, honey. Fake it."
~Anna
1. Lois: Partners?
Perry: You and Kent. The experience of the battle-scarred veteran paired with the hunger of the exciting, fresh talent.
Lois: I am not that scarred, and he is not that exciting.
Perry: Your tenacity. His tact. Believe me, Lois, the two of you, there's chemistry there. It's gonna make for great stories.
Lois: But, Perry, partnership, it's like marriage.
Perry: That's right. You've got to work at it.
Lois: It takes patience and understanding, a willingness to be supportive.
Perry: I know, honey. Fake it.
Episode - Requiem for a Superhero
Here's an easy one...
"Uh, okay, you got me, I wanna borrow your clothes."
Who, to whom, when...?
-Breanna
That's Clark's attempt to lighten the mood when he's trying to ask Lois out on a date in "The Phoenix"
Okay, how about this one:
"You were an itch. You've been scratched."
Pel
That would be Lex to Miranda in Phermone, My Lovely, right?
How about this?
"Hold on to your spurs!"
Trenna
I Now Pronounce You
Perry says it to Clark, seeing that Lois is acting a bit manic.
How about, "Oh, you are evil incarnate!"
Who said it to whom in what episode -- and what was the response?
/me blinks in surprise
Really? No one knows that... uh, perhaps a hint is in order. <trying to think of one that won't give it away...>
Oh, ok, how about I fill in the response.
"Well, sure, is that a bad thing?"
I'm pretty sure it's Lois to Tempus, but I can't figure out what ep so I'll take a wild guess. Is it Tempus Anyone?
~Anna
Yes, yes... and nope, not that ep.
Closest so far!
I'll guess Soul Mates...
When he's Tempus Tex and he has Lulu's parents locked up
-Breanna
Ding, ding, ding!
We have a winner!
Good job, Breanna. You're up!
Hi sorry!
Been busy...
ok how about "How come, when you repeat what I say, it sounds so dumb?"
-Breanna
thats second season.. Clark is talking to lois in... Contact?
thats second season.. Clark is talking to lois in... Contact?
Actually, Contact is in
third season...but I would have given it to you anyway. Except that it's not from contact...
Good guess though
-Breanna
Season 3, Clark to Lois, and I think it was in "When Irish Eyes are Killing"?
metwin1
you got it metwin1
your turn!
-Breanna
Try this one.
"You want to pick up that conversation where we left off?"
Speaker, Episode? Next line bonus.
metwin1
Clark to Lois in 'Virtually Destroyed' when Jaxon sent them to virtual Hawaii she replies with 'why don't we wait until we're really alone as opposed to virtually alone."
okay here goes
"Man Superman's got to kick some Nazi butt from here to Pluto."
who said it, what ep and what was the next line?
Go Jimmy!
Episode: SuperMann
ack! I'm blanking on the next line!
-Breanna
Yep that's right! As for the next line forget about it. It was by the way from the TV Steve Law saying 'for those of you wonering about Superman well I'm afraid he's been eliminated'
Dang, and here I was doing web searches (and about to run upstairs to see if I had the script on my laptop, which isn't connected to the 'net) and tearing out my hair trying to remember it. SuperMann was one of the first eps I ever taped, and unlike some FoLCs, I actually liked it. Yeah it was corny, but it also spoke to another interest of mine, history, especially WW2 history.
Oh well... what's the next quote, you guys?
Melisma (under her Rock, all mush now that Lab has posted the next part of her story, but still game for a good quote to guess!)
ok next one
"There's that cute, what's-her-name who turns those cards on that game show."
Spoken by whom in which episode?
-Breanna
Oooh, just watched that one last night!
It's Katie Banks, possessing Lois' body, to Superman, in Ghosts!
Ok, I think that makes it my turn.
How about:
"You're just mad that I'm the one wearing the tights -- pants, I mean pants..."
Said by whom, to whom, and in what episode?
I know this one! <shocked>
Lois to Clark in Stop The Presses.
LabRat
Way to go, Rat!
You're up!
Oooooooooooh. Let's see. Okay, easy one:
Look, the story's as good as written. The guy arrives, waves, says peace is good, surprise surprise. Not a good use of our time.
Said by who, episode title, and what would be a good use of their time?
LabRat
Um, I'm going with Lois, in A Chip off the Old Clark, when they got assigned to go cover the peace conference between those two countries, I can't remember their names...
Oh I'm prolly all wet, and not just cause it's pouring rain here today...
Melisma (ducking shamefacedly back under her Rock)
Two out of three, Mel - and the third?
LabRat
Oooh, I knew I forgot something... Let's see - Perry had told them to cover the peace conference, and Lois said that it wouldn't be a good use of their time. Or something like that.
(I haven't seen the ep in a long time, but I really liked it - loved what'shisnose, Mr. Makeup? The guy who was so good at disguising himself. Hm... There's a villain I wouldn't mind seeing again in a fic... Hm... Muse just had a thought. Okay, shutting up now
)
Melisma (under her Rock, sure that she is wrong as usual)
The third is Lois saying she'd rather investigate Jesse's (that's the boy's name, isn't it?) mother?
Cris
Actually, I think she says she wants to go talk to her.
Cris (Still unsure about her answer)
See Lab? Told you I would get it wrong - I'm pretty sure that Cris has it, now that I think about it. What kind of a prize do I get if I'm 2/3rds right?
Melisma (shutting up about this quote now, here under her Rock - bring on the new one...)
Yup, Cris has it. But, I guess, as there were three questions and Mel got two and Cris one - Mel has the floor.
Fair?
LabRat
Okay... But give me a little bit of time to come up with a good one, okay? My scripts and the few squinty-vision eps I have, are all upstairs on my other computer. I'll post it tomorrow morning sometime, okay?
Melisma (shocked, stunned, in need of oxygen, here under her Rock - she actually *won*???)
Okay, sorry this took me so long...
Alright - for this quote, please identify the following things: the episode it's from; who said it, what the person said just before it, who the person said it to, and in what context; who replied, and what that person said - word for word.
Yeah, I know that's a lot to ask, but you all are FoLCs - there's nothing about your show you don't know, yes?
Okay, here's the quote - take it away, FoLCs...
"Think of this as our honeymoon period."
Melisma (under her Rock, grinning as she waits to watch the fur fly)
From Barbarians at the Planet
Perry hauls Chip out of the chair and propels him out the
door.
LUTHOR
(feigning shock)
Perry!
PERRY
Did you or did you not just make
that featherbrained, snot-nosed,
pimply-faced, under-aged cow 'chip'
my boss?
LUTHOR
That's one interpretation.
PERRY
Here's another. Get the hell out
of my office, and stay out!
Luthor doesn't budge, instead settles back in Perry's
chair.
LUTHOR
(reasonably
conciliatory)
Perry, you're overreacting. My
management style may not be exactly
what you and the Daily Planet are
used to, but give it time.
LUTHOR (cont'd)
We'll _learn_ to adapt, compromise,
work together. Maybe even to love
each other. Think of this... as
our honeymoon period.
PERRY
Think of this as our divorce. Period.
Perry SLAMS the door on his way out. A moment later he
re-enters, grabs his Elvis picture from the wall, exits
with another SLAM. Luthor sighs.
the episode it's from; check
who said it, check
what the person said just before it, check
who the person said it to, check
and in what context; check
who replied, check
and what that person said - word for word. double check
-Breanna
100%, Breanna - you're up next
Melisma (sitting back under her Rock to see what happens next)
ok...how about "Ever play catch?"
who is talking, and who are they asking, and what was the response(s), etc...
-Breanna
I think it was Clark to Jesse in Chip of the Old Clark when He and Lois go to interview Leighanne about the whole lovve child thing. When Jesse zooms to the other side of the room Clark make mutters "Gee and your so fast too"
You're right you Crazy Babe! :p
Your turn!
-Breanna
Okay I've got it!
"Are you saying that their bodies shut down because they believe that something is killing them?"
who said it, what episode, and the reply? :p
Erm... she says shyly not having had the courage to guess before...
Is it from 'Never on Sunday' - the one about Baron Sunday and voodoo?
Hopeless chocoholic
Right episode who said it?
I think it sounds more like Lois...
Nope it wasn't either of them keep guessing!
I'm gonna go all weird and say it was Star.
Jen
(who really has no clue but seems to remember Star was in the episode b/c somebody told Clark to hold onto something dear to him)
Keep right on guessing!
hey everyone!
can I play too?
Sure Cyad.
Once Anna (BanAnna) posts a quote, you can guess with the rest of us. First person to post the right answer (episode/person speaking + whatever else they ask for) gets to post the next quote!
-Breanna
okay.
Well...waiting for that quote Anna!!
LOL
Carole
Oh, me? Okay.
Here's the next one: "I saw this TV show. There was a parallel universe."
Who said it, what ep, and what was the next line?
~Anna
aww...that's a tough one, but I'll go with Tempus in "Tempus anyone?" and the next line...er..."Gosh! I love irony!" (though i'm suddenly not sure at all).
Nope, but keep guessing!
~Anna
Out of the blue guess here...
Is it Lois (Wanda) in Seconds? Talking to Lex about a memory that she thought was a TV show...
-Breanna
I seem to remember that this is Martha to Clark, in a Season 1 episode; I can't remember which one, though. Maybe I'm Looking Through You?
Wendy
Wendy, you're getting really close, but it isn't ILTY. Keep guessing.
~Anna
Oooooooh, hang on - I saw that on TV last week.
Okay, Vat Man? Martha says it and Clark responds with "Mom, please, don't go all scifi on me...' Or something like that. <G>
And Anna - ROTFLMAO!!! Just noticed your new sig.
Okay, decided I should get it right, so just checked the script. Clark says: "Mom, don't get sci-fi on me, please."
how about the Pilot when Martha tries to convince Clark to create an alter ego (eventually a one flying around in spandex)?
You've got it, Rat! I love the irony of that line, especially considering that the writers of that line probably had no idea it would become ironic.
~Anna
Hmm...sounds like something a kid would say.
Was it Amy (or one of the other ones) from Smart Kids?
[edit...oops...guess not :p )
-Breanna
Yeah, it does raise a wry chuckle.
Hmmmmmmmmm...let's see....
I'm not greedy, my prices are real reasonable, and I'm not an ogre, I'm gonna throw in a little pro bono work.
Spoken by who? And the title of the episode?
LabRat
Isnt that Murray Brown in I'm Looking thru You?
That's Resplendant Man!
Here's the new
What ep, who spoke it, who is s/he talking to?
~Anna
EDITing to say that it was ILTY
Missy church in WHALTTA!
she is sitting talking to Lois and Clark, mostly Lois tho while they are interviewing her hubby about his new take on life
Geez, do I get the prize for question unanswered for shortest time?
LabRat (letting Anna off with naming the episode. <g>)
You look like a thing....not a very happy thing.
Oh look hunky she's blushing!
Ahh the workings of Mindy Church's mind.
(WHALTTA btw)
[edit. sheesh...everyone is pouncing on these answers!]
-Breanna
Mindy Church to Lois and Clark in We have A Lot To Talk About?
Mindy Church in We Have A Lot to Talk About; to Lois and Clark.
"Hey, you guys a thing? You look like a thing! Not a very happy thing..." (from memory)
Wendy
Oh geez, who do I pick? You all posted at the same time!
I guess whoever gets here with a new quote wins.
~Anna
EDITing to say that it was ILTY
actually, it's a bolt from the blue
Right actor, wrong episode
lol...does that help with my chances?
-Breanna
turns yours Wendy, your reply is more 'documentated" and I'll have too dash off in a few...
Oh gosh! I'm Meriwether now!!
/me dance overjoyed around my compy.
But i can also try to pick up a quote, and this time, i'll make it a much harder and tgricky one
. So:
(two possible answers allowed)
Fly Hard:
CLARK
Amazing night...
JACK
Pretty unbelievable.
CLARK
Yeah, you could say that.
JACK
I mean, if I ever told anybody
about it they'd think I was crazy,
right?
CLARK
Probably.
JACK
You know, you still owe me a
movie.
CLARK
Next weekend.
JACK
You're on
Is that one of the possibles?
Or Barbarians at the Planet:
LOIS
Double or nothing?
CLARK
Okay.
(beat)
The Seven Dwarves.
LOIS
You're on. Piece of cake.
-Breanna
er...nope I was more thinking...first season.
a hint: it's a girl who says it in both answeres I had in mind.
But as I'm leaving in 2 minutes, and that I'm sure you already had it, it was:
Cat to Jimmy. they both bet on where Lois was going after she left the office early... and it's at the beginning of "honeymoon in Metropolis".
The other was in the Source, when a little girl challenge Lois at the leisure park with a teasing "big deal, my mum signs youc check!".
So, pick up a quote...
Carole
LOL...
ok...who is speaking, who are they talking to, and what episode?
"You're our only hope."
...and no this is not Star Wars.
-Breanna
Ooh. Um the scientist dude talking to Superman in All Shook Up?
Jen
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDITing to say that it was ILTY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
actually, it's a bolt from the blue
See! That's exactly why they shouldn't have the same actor play two different roles on the same show. /me shakes her head at the silly casting directors.
~Anna
Lol Anna!
And good job Jen.
"You're on"
Ahh, here we go. I like this one:
Funny, you don't look like a fortune cookie! Who said it, what's the episode...you guys know the drill.
Jen
I'm guessing Lois in the Pilot, but I'm sure I'm wrong...
Melisma (under her Rock, still looking for an item for the Trivia quiz...)
Not quite, keep guessing!
Jen
I'm going to guess for Chi of Steel. Probably Lois speaking here to that Chinese girl (can't remember her name)
Saskia
Nope. Good try, keep at it!
Jen
(who can be nagged to give a hint at some point if anyone so chooses
)
Okay, I've been nagged, so I think I've got an okay hint for this: there's kryponite involved in this ep...
Ha! Just found it out.
It's Spencer Spencer talking to one of his guys. So that makes it Ordinary People. So it's my turn now...
"I had nothing to do with it. I swear to you. I mean, why would I?" Saskia
Meredith claiming she's innocent!!!!!!!!!
Um...
Seriously, it sounds like something Jimmy would say. Can't tell you more.
Kaethel
(who hasn't watched the show in ages)
EDIT!!!!!!!! All right, after Saskia mentioned on irc that I
ought to know this one, I started to seriously think about it, and suddenly it came back to me. Jack said it to Clark in
Barbarians at the Planet, when Clark asked him if he had anything to do with the bombing of the Planet.
Kaethel already knows she's right, but I'll confirm it for the rest of you. So bring on the next quote!
Saskia
All right, how about this? Who's talking, about whom, and in what episode?
"Oh, my. Now he is one hunk of man."Kaethel
(and no, it's not me talking about Clark
)
Ok...we've lost some posts...
I posted before the boards went down for a bit that this was Bonnie re: Clark from That Old Gang of Mine. In the casino.
Then Kaethel got all silly saying that she needs to work harder
and someone (sorry...I can't remember who
) thanked me because she couldn't get it and it was bugging her.
Then I posted the next one
:
"Boy, this is one slow elevator, huh?"
Who said it in what episode, and why?
-Breanna
