It's been brought to our attention that mIRC is typically problematic for people to get into. Viruses, poor server stability, and generally confusing set up make it less than ideal to host the Kerth ceremony and chat.

As a result, NK, Folc4evernaday, and I have made the decision to move this year's chat and ceremony to Google Hangouts. Our suggestion is to come and hangout some time before the awards on April 29, to get used to it. It's pretty much a standard chat room and way less confusing than mIRC.

ETA: An added bonus of Hangouts is that you will be able to read all the previous messages in the links if you have to come in late or log out and back in for any reason.

I don't (and *won't*) have a personal Google account; therefore, I will be missing the ceremony. Would it be possible to make a transcript of it available in a way that does not require a Google account to see?

It should work without the Google account.

Very true! I also wanted to add that it has the added bonus of not requiring you to download anything to use it.

If you have a Google Account great, but if not the links above will allow you to join Hangouts without the account. Just click the link and you're in. The three of us did extensive testing to be sure

I don't post often, so please pardon a brief correction here:

IRC *is* accessible from either your cell or tablet.

Just like accessing Google Hangouts, all you have to do is download an app. Be sure to search apps for "irc" (not "mirc").

Personally, I like AndChat, but there are various, free apps.

Okay, you've totally confused me. I thought this started at 4pm CENTRAL time zone (ie. Chicago & Kansas). But now you're saying it's 4pm MOUNTAIN time zone (Salt Lake City). I've done all my planning for 2pm PST (Los Angeles/Vancouver). When does this thing start again?

London 11pm daylight savings time is gmt 10pm utc.
For New York that's 5pm utc and Los Angeles 2pm utc and 3pm daylight.

Vicki posted the time as gmt/utc so you have the daylight adjustment.

It starts at 4pm Central STANDARD Time (which is currently the same as Mountain Time). I forgot to adjust for daylight savings when I set the times as we don't observe it in my state.

That's why I did up the list above. All of the times on the list above are current local times (including the daylight savings)
