The Kerth Awards Ceremony is on Saturday, April 12th, at 3pm Central Daylight Time. party

The ceremony planning begins now! We need volunteers to present the categories (and announce the winner). It's also great to have "commercials" during the ceremony for added entertainment.

If you would like to volunteer to present a category or write some commercials, please respond to this thread or private message me.

Presenting is easy! smile You can be as creative or straightforward as you like. Simply give a brief explanation of the category, name the stories nominated, and then announce the winner (which you will be given).

Here are the categories:

Best Super Short Story - VirginiaR

Best Short Story - KenJ

Best Mid-Length Story - Darth Michael

Best Long Story

Best Revelation Story

Best Original/Supporting Character

Best First Kiss - Morgana

Best New Author - KenJ

Best Overall Story

In a separate post, I will provide more details about the ceremony, how to find us on IRC, and the inevitable time zone discussion. smile

If you cannot attend the ceremony but still wish to participate, feel free to claim a category, write a presentation, and send it to me. I can copy/paste it into the ceremony, and it will be like you were there (almost)! smile

Thanks!

I'll have to miss most of the ceremony. frown It will start at the same time as the monthly worship service my son and I attend. I might be able to catch the ending, though.

Will anyone be recording it?

For those who will be able to attend: Have fun. smile

Lynn

There's usually a transcript posted a few weeks after the ceremony, of both the awards channel and the channel where the audience hangs out.

I'll have to miss it. April 12th is the opening day of my play.

How long does the ceremony usually go for?

I'm hoping to make it but the baby is due very close to then, so it depends on it lol.

Congratulations, NostalgiaKick!

As far as I know, I can make it... if I don't end up in the wrong chatroom again. blush I won't have time to think up commercials this year, but I may be able to present something. If you don't mind something long winded, I probably could do Super Short (you know, just for irony's sake). laugh

I'll try to make it, but it depends on naptime and feeding. With luck, I might see the first few categories. Unless my in-laws visit and take the girls for a bit. smile

Last call for volunteers! If we don't get more volunteers ASAP, then we won't have a ceremony, since I can't do it all by myself! wink

Let me know if you are interested in volunteering or if you have any questions.

Amber,

I look forward to passing the baton of Best New Author to the new recipiant.

I suppose that if push came to shove I could present another category. Anything but mid-length.

As long as it doesn't run to 4 or 5 hours. 3 would probably be my max.

Thank you VirginiaR, KenJ, and Michael!

There's still time to claim a category! hyper

It's painless, I promise. I'll walk you through everything you need to know. Who else wants to join in the fun? dance

I regret that I will be unable to attend as I already have a commitment for that time. frown

Best regards to the nominees, presenters, and winners!

I'm hoping to be there, but as I've never used IRC before, and I'm 6 hours ahead of you guys I'm not going to be reliable enough to be involved.

Sorry I can't make it but I will be hosting a large meeting at that time. I'll look forward to the list of winners and the transcript!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend unfortunately...there are some family things going on that day--and even if that ends up working around the time of the ceremony, with a 2 and a 4 year old--it's just hard telling what else could randomly be going on then during the day laugh ...

Have fun everyone--if I'm not there, I'll definitely be thinking of you guys smile

Good luck!

Congratulations to all the Kerth winners. And to the runners-up: I imagine I was far from alone in having a tough time picking only one choice from each category; there were multiple Kerth-worthy nominations in most categories.

I know that I was honoured just to have one of my stories included on the same list as the other nominees.

So.. Bravo or brava to each nominee and winner. smile
